Heartbreak
Lulu told Spinelli that She didn't want to date him. Not only that she didin't want to date anyone. She didn't want to be loved or to love. The rape of her parents years before has really damaged Lulu. (did she really need more damaging?)
Friendship
This is one of the reason I love Spinelli. He was wounded so deeply but his first impluse was to pledge friendship to Lulu. ahh. I mean this is why this guy is amazing.

Guest Contributor: Magic at the Marriott

As soon as I heard that Bradford Anderson was hosting his first official fan event in NYC, I knew I had to be there. I've been watching General Hospital for almost nine years, but I had never been to a soap opera event before this one. Spinelli is my favorite GH character and the main reason why I look forward to watching the show. Bradford does such a great job of bringing this character to life. He is an incredibly talented actor, and I couldn't wait to meet him.

My mom and I watch General Hospital together so I convinced her to come with me to Bradford's event. While we were waiting to check in we met up with Stephanie who I have been talking with on MySpace and her daughter, Rebecca. They are both great!!! The four of us were sitting at the same table and we had fun talking while we waited for the event to begin.

I was so excited when Bradford walked into the room! He made everyone feel welcome right away. He is so cute and charming. The event began with a question and answer session. All of Bradford's answers were honest and sincere. He was very funny and made us laugh a lot. After the Q&A, Bradford went around to each table to sign autographs, take pictures, and talk with each person. It was so wonderful to meet him! He gave me a hug and we chatted for a little while as he autographed two photos. He also talked with my mom before we took some pictures. He is such a sweet guy!!!

After Bradford had gone around to all of the tables, the professional photographer took a group photo. Then it was almost time to go. But before leaving I got the chance to say goodbye to Bradford and tell him how much fun I had. That was an awesome end to an amazing afternoon.

Oh and if you haven't already, you should definitely read Stephanie's GREAT recap of the event titled Fan Fare. (Penny posted the link.) She included some pictures! :)

I have decided that this is the theme of today's episode. Friendship. (and cement keyboards too because that is important)

Spinelli's scenes with Sonny. Boy has Sonny been hard on sweet Spinelli the past few days. I really laughed though much of it though. Bradford did such an amazing job through the whole scene. Poor Spinelli was so scared. Then after when Jason found Spinelli asleep on the couch. how cute was that. Hugging his computer. I loved how Jason was loud after he has already seen Spinelli so Spinelli would not think that Jason saw him so 'vulnerable'.

I really prefer orange soda.

"Mr Corinthos has ways of making people talk and I think they all hurt!"

Then .. then.. Lets get to the Spinlu scene at the end. Oh gosh that was beautiful. Spinelli didn't probe. He said the thing she needed the most. He was there when Lulu needed him the most.
She looked so safe that very moment.

No Spinelli Today

he was mentioned today. he was the first person Lulu went looking for after she found out about her father raping her mother 27+ years ago.

So Jason is suddenly a lackey?

So what the hell was that yesterday? Yes, Jason turned on Sonny last year, taking over Sonny's business because of his relationship with Emily. Yes, their relationship is obviously still strained. But I was unaware that when Sonny took the business back that Jason signed on as "lackey." What else could explain his treatment of Jason yesterday?

I have no use for the character of Sonny. He's an overblown, egotistical caracature. That kind of character can be great on a soap, but he says the same things over and over and over again, and I find all the Sonny storylines tedious and boring.

That being said, the attack on Spinelli yesterday was over the top, even for Sonny. It went way beyond jealousy over the relationship between Spin and Jason. It not only proved that there is apparently no relationship left with Jason other than "boss and lackey" but that Sonny finds him completely ignorant and untrustworthy. Worse yet, Jason seems to agree since he barely tried to stand up for himself or Spinelli, even when he was told he was sloppy. Is this Guza's attempt to get the legion of Sonny fans he lords over to turn on the JaSpin friendship?

I will say that I was tickled when Spinelli didn't immediately drop everything he was doing to address Lulu. She needs to understand that Spinelli doesn't just sit around and wait for her to have a problem. He had an almost "duh" look on his face as he was telling her that perhaps she shouldn't attend the court hearing. This in no way negates his feelings about "the blonde one," but it shows growth for the Spin character and gives hope for a positive, mature relationship for SpinLu, however far in the future that may be (ack).

I am sickened that Spin apparently won't be there for Lulu during her breakdown over the rape reveal. This goes against the grain in a major way for the history of their relationship, but with Guza, all you can do is hang on and hope the ride doesn't make you too sick...

Speculative Ramblings

Bradford Anderson has signed a contract. The question is now what are they going to do with Spinelli.

I have heard two theories on the subject. I will admit I am not the genius that came up with these.

Theory Number #1 Spinelli is Kate Howard's hidden kid.

Prospective fathers being Sonny or Jax (yes believe it not it looks like Jax and Kate have a history too surprise surprise)

I am fairly certain if they go this route that after the two Spinelli & Sonny scenes we have had that Sonny is Spins daddy.

Was Spinelli left at relative of Kate's so she could become a powerhouse in the fashion world? Remember Spinelli has implied he has his own paternity issues just like little baby Jake. Secrets seemed to have played a part so perhaps "cousin" Connie or Kate would have visited Damian. He would have known her growing up. Then when Spin's hacking ability started to developed he found out with some digging that 'cousin' Kate was really his mother. They moved on from that but Spinelli never quite got over being discarded by his mother so she could have 'her life'.

the only spoiler or rumor from this theory is that Kate had Sonny child when she was a teen and that Kate was involved with Jax some how. Everything else is speculation.

Theory #2 Spinelli is a WSB agent.

This idea rocks. I believe Spikey came up with this one. There is no reason that this theory would mean the first one is wrong ether. We saw Spinelli after Anna had 'failed' breaking into Alcarzer world. Spinelli job was to get in to Alcarzar's confidence but that was blown when he was kidnapped by Jason and Sam after Sam was framed. I don't know if Spinelli is working Jason or if he is in agent sleep mode right now. I actually think it is the later. Would the WSB would really care that much about a cracker jack mob in Port Charles?

The spoiler for this one is that Anna is returning this summer and that Spinelli will have some storyline with Anna and Robin

Seriously i am having a hard time talking about it. Look at that boy's face. They have put him in such a position that he is not going to be available when Lulu needs him the most. At least Lulu made him smile. Two days in a row Spin has been someones whipping boy. Both times out of jealousy.

Friendship & Heartbreak

Oh how sweet the train wreck that is Jason's & Spinelli's friendship.

Jason DOES care about Spinelli. I think he sees a lot of him self (early Jason Morgan). Poor Spinelli thought he was getting a family dinner.

YES Chinese Food & a Family Dinner

Poor Spinelli wanted to crawl into a hole when he realized he 'ruined' a private dinner for the Goddess & Stone Cold. He was prepared to leave the penthouse for good but Jason didn't want him too. Jason said he would worry about him. We find out that Jason is very concerned that Spinelli knows about Evil Al's demise and is more worried about Spinelli then himself.
I really think that Spinelli is going to get hurt some way over his relationship with Jason. Everyone that Jason cares about gets 'hurt' sometime.

The Goddess does not love me anymore :(

Didn't you hear him Spinelli he said you could be charged as an accessory. He was more concerned with his friendship with Jason then his own well being.

Secrets.......

Some people should not be burdened with a secret.. It just not a good idea.. It is is unfair and they are just not made for it..

Thats our Spin. He tries really really hard, he does. I think he knows about ever major secret in town including the two focused on today. That little Jacob Spencer is really a "stone cold special" and that Stone Cold 'offed' Evil Al.

He really needs to stop being the keep of secrets for Port Charles. Robin does a better job.

Another thing I saw today was that it was pretty much a Spinelli & Sonny day. You rarely have Spinelli and Sonny together like that and if you do they are very brief. Today they spent the whole episode together. (stop threating my boy Mr Corinthos sir.) Interesting...........

What a very busy episode for Spinelli

We start off with Spinelli accidentally hearing something he should not have. He knew he messed up. Jason just wants to protect Spinelli and the last thing he should have heard was that.

a bag of chips?

Oh "other guy" showed his true colors today.. Who the heck gives a bag of potato chips in a gift bag. Really "other guy" you have got to try harder.. Better yet don't try at all. You see how quickly "other guy" changes over to threating with his attempt to befriend Spinelli didn't work. Poor 'other guy' could not get his chips back ether. Spinelli kept them ("other guy" tried and failed)

It Means a Lot to Me Too.....

Wow...the last two Spinelli scenes have just been incredible. I cannot believe the change in him. Perhaps Spikey was right last week and that last scene with Jason at the penthouse WASN'T a throwaway. Perhaps that was them giving us the last goodbye for "Spazz-a-Lot Spinelli." Did anyone notice how clear and concise he was with Lulu? He seemed like a regular guy, being cute and funny when appropriate. Even in telling Lulu that no one had ever come for him before, he did it in the cutest way - not at all in his usual "aw shucks, I'm really embarrassed to tell you this" kind of way. He seems to really be coming into his own with Lulu - and everyone else.

I tried a million ways to figure out how to convey this in words, but Spinelli was just - different - and in the most lovely way.

Orange Soda

Today we not only got a great Spinelli scene but also and really nice Spinlu scene. I loved the discussion about the orange soda. How wonderful that they stock his favorite drink. I loved how that story unfolded. Jason is really protective of Spinelli.

I loved how Lulu came to the coffee shop to see Spinelli (or at least it seemed that way). She was sure jealous of his computer.

Wardrobe did a great job today. He looked great.

The Hero He Dreamed He Could Be!

I LOVED Spinelli today! THIS is what I was talking about! I'd rather have quality than quantity, and boy, did we get that today! THAT was a scene to chew on! THIS was the hero a skittish Damian Spinelli dreamed he could be during the hostage crisis. He has come so far - he didn't even hesitate when he saw Craig with the gun. He grabbed the pool cue and went for it. Even after he was caught, there was no sign of fear, and he didn't hesitate to stand up to Craig. I also loved that he wanted Jason to know he wish he'd done more and that next time, he'd do better. Fearless and loyal. That's my Spinelli!

This was indeed a progression of the character! More, please!!!

Well.."The Driven One" no doubt wishes she produced a show about remolding kitchens.

I love days like this. While he was not on screen long, it was all good.
