SSW tidbits and photos from fans..

Bradford's line sold out first, or close to it (SZ, NewEnglander, DD)ALL of his standbys were sold out as well..the line was enormous. (NewEnglander)

He was so surprised and looked genuinely amazed and ecstatic at the amount of support he was getting. Out of all the little tents set up for autographs, his by far, was the most crowded. People were crazy trying to get to see him. He looked so happy.

He was like Tigger. He kept bouncing and going from one place to the next, talking to us all. And I heard him say to someone that over the course of 2 days, he only got 4 hours of sleep! People gave him a baseball, and chocolate, and two girls gave him a shirt that said 'Babe Magnet'. He put it on and everyone screamed. He made everyone laugh. He was very personable and friendly and listened and talked to all of the autograph people. He signed anything they wanted him too and took multiple pictures with everyone. Some girls even kissed his cheek! Because he was so friendly, they only had enough time to do 20 of the standbys (out of 60). However, for the last minute, he took a Sharpie and started quickly autographing pictures and taking photos with the front row of standby..--(NewEnglander)

Bradford came out after Becky and Bob gave him a pop quiz on Spinelli-isms and Bradford got all 5 right. Bob looked at Bradford and said "Spinelli's not with Lulu - who do you think Spinelli should be with?" Lots of people started screaming "Georgie!" Bradford skootched over towards Becky and said "Actually, I think he should be with Elizabeth" as he put his arm around Becky. Sonya and Julie came out and Sonya said she thinks Epiphany should be with Sonny.

Becky/Bradford were on one side of the couch and Sonya/Julie were on the other side with Bob. Julie was asked when Spinelli/Lulu are gonna get together and she said "From what I hear, he wants Elizabeth now!" and Bradford put his arm back around Becky and put his hand on her knee. Julie replied by putting HER arm around Sonya and saying "That's fine, don't worry about me!"




JMB said that Lulu should be with Spinelli. JD said "How can you say that when I'm sitting here?" JMB said, "OK, Logan and Lulu should be together". When she said Spin she was half joking/half serious. She was pimping them a lot this weekend though, so I think she does want them.. (SassyK)

Just got back to the hotel after 2 days of SSW and just had to say that Bradford made me a fan and a believer this weekend....what a charming, funny guy! He was an absolute riot and never disappointed. From talk shows to I Want to be a Soapstar, he was the hit of SSW and the talk of the park ( BroadwayFan)



BA was really cool. He came out at 2 a.m. and brought orange soda and bar-b-que chips to the fans out there that morning. He had a camera crew and everything. He laid on the ground with us. He was great. He went out of his way to be nice to his fans. He was the biggest hit of all SSW. (SassyK)


My friend went to JT and BA's "I Wanna Be a Soap Star" where JT replaced TC. She said it was absolutely hysterical. When BA/JT came out on stage they greeted each other with some big buddy hug, very animated. The scene with the person from the audience was basically Robin telling Patrick, "let's go make out" and Patrick asking her what she's not telling him. She tells him she's pregnant and then Spinelli walks in and says he's the father. At the end BA jumped on JT's back and they fell to the ground, throwing pretend punches. She said she was dying laughing. (Tracee)

Spin Gives Us the "Man-Up" We've Been Looking For!

OH YEAH!! Could ANYTHING have been as sweet on Thursday's episode as Spin conking Lulu on the head with the butt of a gun? I literally JUMPED off the couch and screamed!

We begin with Lulu pulling out her well-honed passive aggressive skills and trying to use Spin's obsession with her to get her way. I LOVED that Emily called her on it, and Lulu looked pretty shocked for a moment that she wasn't getting the "backing" from the ladies she thought she would.

Spin tells her he can't let her leave, she DARES him to stop her, opens the door, steps out....I was so sure Spin would break as Lulu stomped off into the rain, spin around on his heels and yell after Lulu with a hopeless voice, showing us that even HE knew he could never stop her, then start whining to Nadine and Elizabeth that Stone Cold would never forgive him.

INSTEAD!! Without a MOMENT'S hesitation, he WHACKS her right on the bean! I LOVED IT! EXACTLY what she deserved (not just for the aforementioned preschool tantrum she was throwing, but for MUCH in the past few months). Spin looked a little sorry, but not as sorry as I would have expected in the past!!

GO SPINELLI!!

Then when Lulu wakes up, I love how he tells her not to "think" about what had happened. Even then, he knew what he had done was the right thing, regardless of how painful it was (physically for her and emotionally for him).

I do admit to being a bit perplexed, though, that she seemed to undergo some sort of personality change in 10 minutes - being a complete biznatch to Spinelli before and then dripping honey about how she couldn't believe her luck in having Spinelli as a friend.

Perhaps that's what they mean when they say someone had the sense knocked into them?

The Adventures of Spin & Nadine

Ok I have to admit it I am really liking Nadine. I like how she sees and treats Spinelli. The actress is great and I really think this may work. She may be worthy of my Spinny. Yesterday was so much fun. I am starting to like GH again and not just watch it like I am trying to down some really bad medicine.

Problems with Spinlu:
Lulu is mean to Spin and Spin is obsessive over Lulu. I really don't have much more to say on this because I have already said it before.

Problems with G-Spin:
Georgie a smart mature woman (who has already been married) is playing a 15 year old with a obsessive crush and poor Spin does not even have a clue. Its not working. I like G-Spin I have liked may of their scenes but they have de-aged Georgie by at least 5 years. I love Lindze she is has just been dealt a bad hand by the writers. Its sad it could have been done so much better.

Nadine seems to see Spinelli for who he is and still likes him (see no obsession on ether side here) Bradford and Claire Coffee (umm Coffee. Another reason to like her) really seem to work well off each other. So nut jobs in charge and writers who are currently on strike give my Spin a romance.

YAY Super Soap!

Only a week away!! Just wanted to clear something up. I'm actually not singing.. I decided at least for my first time there, I wanted to be able to enjoy each day without having to worry about performing each night! Maybe next year.. (if they wan't me back!)

I can't wait to see all of you there!

"Spinsights" for 10/31/07

A few "Spinsights" for the 10/31 episode.

First, let me say that I know there are those who probably loved it, but I did NOT appreciate the SpinLu "dance" scene yesterday.

I'm over SpinLu...O-V-E-R

It's been coming for me for awhile, and Wednesday's episode just clinched it for me. While this episode DID launch what is shaping up to be a PHENOMENAL November sweeps storyline, (Spikey is right, NO ONE does Sweeps like GH), couldn't the writers have given us some closure on SpinLu? It's obvious that they've been trying to kill it for us for quite some time, and while they've been quite successful, it would have been nice if they could have thrown us a bone and let SpinLu have a beautiful dance scene at Wyndemere. Let Spinelli walk away with some dignity and leave Lulu wondering if she had made a terrible mistake. We didn't need hope for a future - just something to cleanse the palate after a summer of Spin abuse and Logag in our faces. Guza couldn't be that generous. Instead, we get one of the most spastic Spinelli days of all time, starting with his complete nerfbag freak out on the dock and ending with his nerd-er-ific dance with Lulu, who acted like she was doing charity work for the mentally handicapped. She did it because she felt she HAD to, not because she wanted to. It was painful, knowing Spin still loves her so much. She doesn't even act like she's interested in his friendship anymore. She uses it to her advantage when she wants something - "if you don't do this, tell me that, I'm moving out!" At least Jason called her on her BS the last time she tried that.

Speaking of the dock-side freak out - what is going on with Jason these days? He is really earning his "stone cold" title. I realize a lot is going on in the ever-yawn-worthy mob world, but Jason usually has more patience for his wingman and a willingness to try to talk Spin down. Lately, he seems to find Spin nothing more than an annoyance and someone to turn to when he needs computer help or camera surveillance. I'm in dire need of a warm JaSpin moment. I hope I'm going to get it for sweeps!

The only positive note for Spin in this episode was Nadine. She seems to actually appreciate Spinelli's positives, and I LOVED that she called him "The Most Dashing One" in such a genuine way, without a hint of sarcasm or a feeling that she was making fun of him. It's obvious she has no romantic interest in Spin, and vice versa, but it's nice to know Spin may be making a new friend who won't judge or chastize him for his uniqueness. YAY, NADINE!

Poor Georgie - I'm actually surprised Spin didn't think of asking her to the ball, but I guess we're going to be forced to wait this one out, if we get it at all. I'm definitely in the G-Spin camp. They would be so cute together, and how refreshing would it be for Spinelli to be in a healthy relationship with someone who truly cares for him and accepts - and LOVES - all his qualities. PLEASE don't let Georgie be one of the "casualties" of sweeps!

Maybe this big sweeps event will force change for Spinelli. If he's at Wyndemere, I'm assuming they have plans for him during this storyline. Let's hope it's to save Nadine or Georgie - or both! To really be forced to "man up" and learn that he can do it better than he ever thought he could. Let's let Johnny save Lulu.

Side note - I'm actually rooting for JohnLu (I don't know if they even have an official title yet). I REALLY like the Johnny character. Great actor playing him, he's NOT hard to look at and he and Lulu have great on-screen chemistry (something she SORELY lacks with Logan - ack).

The Most Dashing One..

Spin has a panic attack and Jason tries to calm him. Drop dead gorgeous Nadine (Spin's date) shows up and calls Spin "Most Dashing One". Spin calms and introduces Jason to Nadine. I don't think Jason has ever had a girlfriend any more beautiful than this girl. Go Spin!

Meanwhile, at the party, Lulu dances with her father (awwww) Lucky/Liz dance together, make me cry and remember how good they can be together. Nikolas touches me with the proposal to Emily. Jerry and Alexis have some major chemistry, and sweet Georgie shows up with Coop, and (saint that she is) admits she wants him to dance with her sister. I really hope she gets some good moments with Spin. She was so broken-hearted that he was taking Nadine.

Nobody does Sweeps like GH...

Oh yeah....

Now I don't feel the pressure to have to come up with something new all the time. I don't have to hit the top of the charts with every scene. I can pace myself a little bit. I still make very specific and bold choices, but I don't feel like I have to blow it out in every scene."

Night Shift vs. GH - WTF?

Yep, I'm going to say that a lot in this blog. WTF? I have NO CLUE what to say about the apparent integration between Night Shift and GH. Granted, Halloween is my busiest season for my business and maybe I missed something somewhere that explains all this, so please comment if that is so - so I can stop saying WTF???

Did Bradford and others not state that Night Shift was an apparent "alternate universe" from regular GH? I'm pretty sure I didn't dream that! So if so, how are they planning to explain the following since it seems that many of the storylines have hopped from the netherworld into daytime TV:

1) During the dark of night, did Spinelli suffer from schizophrenia and forget his love for Lulu? How else can we explain his chase of Jolene and his subsequent virginity-losing romp in the O.R.? During the day, Spinelli seems to still be as in love as ever with Lulu, and if we ARE to assume the crossover of his bed hop with Jolene (which we would have to since she is now ON GH, wouldn't we?), would he not discuss his heartbreak with Lulu? Or did "Jolene's Spinelli" remain in the alternate universe? But if he did, how do we explain his discussion of Jolene's horrid deeds to her sister? Jolene's terror tirade on the patients and staff of GH crosses over but the romance between she and Spinelli DOESN'T? WTF? Which leads me to.....

2) Jolene's sister has shown up on the GH canvas (and conversely, we have no way of knowing that Jolene won't come out of the coma!), but Spinelli made no mention to the Angel of Death's sister that Jolene had saved his life. Does that mean the shootout in the E.R. scenario remains in the alternate universe?? How can that be if Jolene is in a coma? HOW did she get in the coma if we don't include the shootout?? Dr. Julian is still injured, so there MUST have been a shootout, right? WTF?

3) Getting off the Spinelli topic a bit here, but what about the rest of the storylines?? Does "Anna" the baby exist for Robin in the daytime GH universe? Or is there an "alternate Robin" still left out there in the ether? Robin and Patrick had similar reasons for breaking up on GH, but there was no mention of it being because of the baby storyline from Night Shift. WTF??

4) Will Touissant show up on GH? Or does he have just ONE being - that of Night Shift? So that means no romantic storyline for Epiphany? WTF????

5) If both shows are supposed to somehow "gel" (and I'm sorry, they DO NOT), when the hell did anyone sleep?? Everyone was working the night AND day shift! No wonder Robin and Patrick broke up! And how can SOME stories crossover but others NOT? WTF!

There are lots of WTF moments like this if they plan on trying to integrate these two shows, which I NEVER thought was the plan. The biggest question in terms of this blog is still - how are we supposed to justify all these actions for Spinelli?? Are we supposed to assume he banged Jolene at night and made breakfast for the blonde one when the sun came up? That he was chasing the "Angel of Mercy" and talking to Stone Cold about his feelings for her at night while pining away for Lulu during the day, heartbroken and dejected when he learns she is sleeping with Logan? Why would he care if he was doing the horizontal mambo with Jolene?

I sit and stare at the TV and wonder how they expect us to swallow all this. But then again, it's Guza. Why am I surprised? WTF indeed!

Are you confused?

Last night, I swore it was a dream (at least some of it)



Today, I think it all happened.

Of course, I'm talking about the series NIGHT SHIFT.

After thinking on it, I like that it happened. I think it deepened most of the characters involved (Patrick probably took the biggest hit) but certainly Robin, Spin and Jason are the better for it. I've really come around to the thought that this troubled girl was Spin's first sexual experience, and he really got to her.

I like it.

Of course, Jason was the hero of the shootout, but Spin had his moments, certainly Robin did.

Jolene jumped in front of a bullet meant for Spinelli, and she is now in an apparent irreversable coma.







Today's show verified that it was real. (at least, I got that impression) Leo was shot. Kelly had her sex problem. Lainey/Cody were plotting to allow Jolene take the blame so he wouldn't go down for her pulling the plug on her father. Spin was wondering why Jolene was willing to die to save him.

As for the part of the show that isn't so HUH? Carly took Spin by the hand today and offered him junk food. Of course, we know this means trouble.

Smartly, Spin ran straight to Sonny. Mr. Corinthos sir, Valkyrie, Valkyrie, etc. etc. Sonny told him to say "CARLY". Spin managed to spit it out.. C-C-C--Carly. ha!!

Physical Comedy

Today's show proves once again that Bradford is a brilliant physical comedian when Spin drops the gun all the way down his pants.


TPTB need to take a look at romantic comedies which include this type of humor and incorporate that into any pairing he has. (DAYS Jack/Jen did it very successfully on soaps.) Don't know if any of the current "teen" girls have that ability(possibly Kirsten Storms--but Maxie could be too much for our Spin). I feel that would work really well for his character.


Another laugh out loud moment was Spin leaving a voice mail to Sonny.

Steve and Bradford get lots of rave reviews for their fun and at times touching brotherly relationship but I really think that Bradford and Maurice are equally brilliant together. Sonny has no patience, Spin rambles. They make an excellent comedy team.

Re; last event: In addition to the traditional brunch items (eggs, bacon, bagels, muffins, desserts etc. .... a full cash bar and a DJ providing music.

Watching General Hospital..

Since I've started watching GH again after a seven year hiatus, I'm pretty much zen about the whole thing. It's far more fun that way.

Best advise? Focus on a favored character and don't get overly involved with couples. It's more enjoyable. Obviously, it's best if your favorite is the one getting airtime. (I think NIGHT SHIFT does a much better job at cast integration, and mother show could take pointers from that, although I do see some improvement in that direction)

So here's a little list of what's entertaining for me to watch right now.

Random Rage Nik --He strolls up to Jerry and starts kicking him repeatedly? What was that?!!!

Jaspin--No matter how crappy their romances are going, they always have each other and it's funny. (Steve Burton has an interview in the latest SOW and totally gushes about Bradford)

Jason, Lucky, Sam and Elizabeth--it's sad to see so your favorite couples break up, but it's been tearjerky and at times amusing. All the characters have great chemistry.

Jaxis and Alexis in general---enough said.

Sonny/Kate-- Together and apart.

Trevor-- The actor is just perfect for that role.

Maxie and her plots---Kirsten is emerging as one of the best bad girls on TV.

Luke Spencer is returning.

Diane-- Like Alexis, everything about this woman is fun to watch.

Crazy Johnny-- Will he be crazy like Logan or just misunderstood?

Ric Lansing-- So well acted, so screwed up..

Michael--that kid gave me the heebies after Leticia's death. I think even Maurice Benard got scared. (That was a great scene)

Robin/Patrick- I don't for one minute think this is the end of them. They are so great together..

OTOH:

Jason/Robin =chemistry.

In spite of Lulu going "Scarlett O'Hara" on him and his lack of backbone where she's concerned, I'm a happy Spin fan. I know there's alot of frustration with Lulu right now, but I find the little brat to be high entertainment.





I've got my theories on why she is acting out, and I believe it has something to do with that rape reveal. I'm probably wrong, but it would make sense since this is when she started going nutzoid bad boy crazy.

If you are a Spin fan, we get great character interaction, and he's on alot. He's actually very well written. From the spoilers I've read, I feel they are setting up the Georgie romance well.

Even the story with Jolene on NS is promising to be poignant.

GH the last two days..

Probably the most unintentionally funny scene I've watched in a while was when Jason was telling Liz all the people who knew about Jake being his kid.

Lulu is getting involved with another baddie.. Johnny is texting her. Don't know why she feels the need to act out, I still say she and Maxie aren't that far apart.

Anyway.. Spin invited her to stay at the penthouse.. I would say that Jason was not happy about this development. It's getting very clear that he has a soft spot for Spin.

I must say that Spinlu are still very good together. I'm a fan of the slow building and this relationship actually accomplishes that. They both have quite a bit of maturing to do, obviously.





As for the other parts of the show? It was good to see Old Skool Jax actually getting one over on Trevor.

I have no horse in this race, so I will say that the Liason love scene was very well done and romantic. Then again, I also felt bad that Lucky/Liz are divorcing, even though all I've seen mostly from them since I started watching again is hateful and unfaithful. (I was a fan of the couple when JJ was Lucky..)

Logan remains a squicky character to me. I had to laugh at all the nasties coming out of his mouth. Didn't know daytime TV allowed such language. I don't think I can even repeat what he called Maxie on Penny's PG-rated journal..

Thoughts on GH..

Jason and Spin continue to grow closer. You know, one of the reasons I quit watching for six years is because I couldn't STAND Jason. Now? I love him. All because of Spinny. They are truly a male supercouple.

Not sure what to think of newbie danger boy Johnny, yet. He seems pretty campy now, but he hasn't spoken yet. Looks like he and Lulu might be playing tag or hide and seek, while everyone thinks she's in danger. It wouldn't surprise me.

Self destruction.

I think that Lulu is not that far apart from Maxie. She's acting out and self destructing. Spin, Georgie (and apparently Coop) are the type who want to save people, and some people just don't want to be saved, no matter how hard you try. I guess Carly is a good example, as Jason has pointed out. They have to want to stop the self destructive behavior on their own.

I am not loving the way Spin throws himself in front of dangerous people when his loved ones are in peril. Don't try this at home--this is NOT safe behavior..



Jason's little buddy is going to get himself hurt someday, that's a given. I just feel that unless it's the end of BA's contract, Spin is too popular to die, so I am not fretting about good Emmy bait material for Steve, Brad and possibly Julie.

I'm really REALLY having a hard time with the Logan character. Recently Frons has said that Logan/Lulu are a "supercouple". So why is Logan continuously bullying women and people smaller than himself? **Shudders** Yes, Maxie was cruel to do what she did to Lulu, but Logan has no business shoving her around. He makes me think he might be the serial killer. :-/

That said, obviously, I'm a hypocrite because I am cheering on Nikolas for choking characters I don't like. (at least we know something is horribly wrong with him and it's not LIKE him)



On to NIGHT SHIFT and serial killers..

Last night's show was both heartbreaking and hilarious. To sum it up, Spin thought he was addicted to sex, and went first to poor Toussaint (Billy Dee had the look of bewilderment) and then Jason, who may have been slightly horrified. (I..I gotta get back to work!!!)

The first thing Jason thought of was that Kelly(who has sex with everyone and takes off her clothes in the middle of the hospital lobby) had put the moves on Spin. There is really no describing that scene where Spin gave TMI about his fantasies or the looks on Jason's face. Jason has yet to master talk of the "birds and the bees".



After she shattered his pitiful heart in tiny peices, what was Jolene crying about at the end when she looked at Spin? Call me crazed, but I wanted her to realize she loves him. It's sad, I want someone to love him back-- even if it's a serial killer.

But seriously? Jason loves Spin. (See Rene's post below)--> Georgie also loves him, or at least has potential too.

I admit, I am die hard Spinlu fan, but even if I wasn't, I would be a bit afraid to get attached to Georgie with Spin. Three month contract? What is that? It worries me about her character. I hope Spin is not one of those characters with the Cartwright syndrome. (when Hoss, Little Joe, Ben or Adam loved someone, they either suddenly died, left town, became evil, or the girl went off with some other guy)

Some Quick Rambling Thoughts....

I'm EXTRAORDINARILY busy this time of year with my business, but definitely some thoughts that I needed to express....

SPINELLI SEARCHES FOR LULU: PLEASE oh PLEASE let TPTB play this out well. We could have some absolutely beautiful scenes between these two if only Goober...er uh..GUZA let's it happen. If this really is a rehash of Luke/Laura/Scotty, then we all know who Lulu will end up with the end. But I'm not buying it. Yes, they are playing it exactly the same way, but it's obvious Lulu has it BAD for Logan. So knowing TPTB like I've known them for 25+ years, Spin is out...but on THAT front...

SPINELLI AND GEORGIE: Okay, I am LOVING this. Poor Georgie. Does NO ONE see her for the gem she truly is? First Dillon, now Spinelli. Poor Spin. He doesn't know a good thing when he sees it. I'm leaning towards a wonderful friendship with Lulu and a relationship with Georgie. They are uber cute together. Sadly, it will probably be Spin's dawning realization of the awesomeness that is Georgie that will get Lulu off her butt to figuring out who should have been her true love. Let's hope it hurts her as much as it's hurt Spin.

And I just have to add....

LUCKY: Gag, hack, barf...please have him shot in the line of duty and put into a coma for a decade or so. Never has such a gullible, whiney, worthless character existed on screen. We need "original Lucky" back. But alas...

SAM THE SLUT: Maybe a bad romp in the hot tub with Lucky can put BOTH of them in a coma. I used to love the Sam character, but she stinks on ice right now.

KATE - BUT WHERE'S DIANE?: I love Kate. Nothing about her bothers me. My only hope is that they put her in more scenes with Diane. Where IS Diane!? She could get Kate out of this mess and bring a ray of sunshine into my life while doing it.

TREVOR LANSING: If he said "alcohol blood level" one more time, I was going to throw my Diet Pepsi at the TV. My alcohol doesn't HAVE a blood level - does his?

More and more, I am thinking Spin/Lulu/Logan/Maxie story is a new whacked out version of the old Luke/Laura/Scott/Bobbie story.

Lulu=Laura--Bratty and self-absorbed, runs away when things go wrong. Hates her life, thinks her home is a prison. In today's show, (during the frantic search)Lesley even said Lulu reminded her of Laura.





Logan=Scottie--Screw up who often says and does the wrong thing. Bobbie connived and had sex with Scottie, Laura found out and was broken hearted. It's being relived. Interesting that Logan's father is Scott Baldwin, too.





Spin=Luke--Suffering from severe unrequited love but pretending to be a BFF. Good dancer (if incorperated) mob ties, has vivid fantasies about blonde one, bad hair, makes up nicknames, has strange friends and likes to wear disguises sometime...





Maxie=Bobbie--Conniving, self-destructive, hates/jealous of the blonde one. Claims her life was far worse, but (of course) she doesn't whine like blonde one does.





Like I said, whacked out version..

Remarkably, there was lots of cast integration, today. Loved the scenes with Logan/Scott, the Quartermaines, Maxie/Georgie and Jason/Spin. (You are the Jackal!!) Spin is rubbing off on Jason, which amuses me. Still don't know how he finds people on the internet in 10 minutes, but we won't think about that.

The chase to the car when Lulu runs from newly introduced Johnny Zacharra and locks the door (He has a canvas top) was campy fun. The evil guy's introduction was interesting. We'll see if it goes down hill from here.
