Spinelli March 2011 Recap

Seemed like it took a few weeks before Spinelli went to visit Sam at the hospital, or be there for moral support for Jason (quick recap Sam was put in the Sonny & Brenda’s limo at the wedding and it blew up. Think Lily style.) Spinelli was reading Sam tales from the book he & Diane were working on, while she was in the hospital recovering. Jason should have realized by now he would of course be a character in the novel. He wanted Spinelli working to find Brenda (who had been MIA since the wedding) instead of writing the book. They made a deal…he could use Jason in the book if he found information on where Brenda was.

Spinelli figured out that Suzanne (her alias name) was not only married to Theo, but also Aleksander’s mother. Jason & Spinelli shared this information with Suzanne (who agreed to help save Brenda…I forget but somehow Suzanne & Theo are let go) and of course Jason is still seeking revenge for him almost killing Sam. He demands Spinelli to find him.

Jason was getting impatient as Spinelli continued to look for information on Theo’s whereabouts. Theo had a connection with the Trujillo family (whoever they were), but turns out they were being loyal, they refused to help Theo and gave him Johnny’s name.

While Jason was on his ‘errand’ Mikey stopped by the penthouse. Spinelli spilled the beans that it was about Theo. A call from Bernie came in about a shipment, Michael convinced Spinelli that the guys could handle it and not to bother Jason about it.

Spinelli showed concerns to Sam about her headaches. Jason gets back to the penthouse; Spinelli fills him in on Sam. Abby shows up to tell Jason what she thought Mikey was up to, Spinelli says he must have overheard him on the phone with Bernie.

Many episodes after Jake’s death we finally got to see Spinelli comforting Jason. It may have been a short scene, but my favorite part was Jason knowing Spinelli was going to hug him and basically invited him in for the hug. Spinelli offered to help find the driver, but Jason said the police could handle it. This was also the day that Spinelli received his copy of the finished book. Spinelli felt the book was insignificant, but Jason didn’t want to delay the release.

By Valentine’s Day, the good old overly used plot point came to Port Charles, though it did include Spinelli’s wonderful snarky hatred for Dante (love that). Lulu remembered Spinelli was her friend, of course it was purely for selfish reasons because she needed his help, and Spinelli being Spinelli, went and shared his heartache with Dante (and Mikey) so Lulu could plan a special surprise (gag me).
That night he spent it with the Valkyeri at Jakes where he found out that Carly was not the one trying to sabotage the wedding, and Sonny wasn’t listening to her warnings about Brenda and the baby. It was now time to step it up.

A different day, Carly informed Spinelli that she would expose Dante & Brenda at the wedding. Hanging out with someone who has mastered the art of lying, Spinelli did manage to lie to Jason & Sam why Carly really stopped by the PI office, but of course St. Jason knows Carly like the same black t-shirt he wears every day, and told her not to try and pull anything. Then did what he ‘does’ best ordered Spinelli to get back to work. Spinelli was to compare Alesander’s DNA with the suspects.
During the month there were more PI fantasies and more getting ordered what to do and when by Jason. Spinelli was still curious to what Carly was going to do at the wedding.


Spinelli saved the day (as usual) and found the true identity of the Balkan. Let’s face it Spinelli truly is the mastermind and hero of Port Charles.The Balkan was Theo Hoffman and Alesander’s father.
Spinelli escorts (or one could say her bodyguard) Molly to the wedding after finding her hiding in Diane & Alexis’s office and learning the truth that Theo is the Balkan. At the wedding is also, very sadly he made mends with Dante. =(

A Review of The Secret Life of Damian Spinelli

As a huge fan of the character of Damian Spinelli and General Hospital I throughly enjoyed this book. It was a departure from the usual storyline that is actually on the show with a lot more fantasy which is at the core of who the Character of Spinelli is. I wish the show itself would use more creative license to go this route with their storylines for Spinelli.

Carolyn Hennesy depicted Spinelli well but I feel at times she may have utilized too many cliche references to Film Noir or old movie classics. I like the utilization of it because that is a technique that is used on General Hospital when Spinelli is in PI mode but I think she went a little overboard. But all and all her writing made me laugh and I had a good time reading it.

This book, whether you enjoyed it or not, was a tribute to a wonderful and unique character that only could be developed on a Soap. Soaps are all about fantasy and it is a genre that should be celebrated. Buy the book if only to show how much you love Soaps and hope that you will be able to watch for some more years to come.

My special thanks go to Bradford Anderson without whom this character would be as flat as a piece of paper. Damian Spinelli is a success due to his creative and talented nature. I'm glad I read the book and would recommend to all who are fans of Soaps.

Spinelli January 2011 Recap

At the beginning of January, Spinelli barged into Diane’s office while she was in the middle of a meeting with Theo Hoffman. Of course Theo wasn’t pleased, and was even more unpleased when Spinelli sneezed. Theo was afraid of getting his germs. He threatened to stop working on the Brenda/Dante case. Diane, naturally praised Spinelli and how brilliant he is and Theo didn’t quit. What comes next is the start of the writing of the Spinelli book (I should have known better that GH/ABC was going to take a beloved character, pimp the book through the fan favorite character of Spinelli and actor and not actually show the character involved in a storyline at the time the book was released…more on that at a later date and time)

Spinelli had a brilliant idea. He asked Diane to help him write a book about the Jackal, PI. At first she laughed at him and brushed him off, but later agreed. There were some disagreements and laughs during their discussions and story ideas. Jason wasn’t too pleased when he first heard about Spinelli writing this book.

Spinelli also worked with Sam & Jason to find more information about Theo Hoffman. During the month, Sam was thinking that Spinelli didn’t want to work with her anymore. Spinelli just needed something creative to do. She assured him he would meet a great girl, because he was a great guy.

Spinelli started to help Brenda plan her wedding to Sonny, even if at first he was against the marriage. He hired a wedding planner. Later, Brenda & Spinelli discuss how hard it must have been for Sam to lose her own child (when really talking about her own loss)

Spinelli also shared scenes with Lucky (and even one with Siobhan). They thought that maybe Jerry Jacks was Alesander’s father. (Later this turned up not to be the case).

Spinelli also was working with Carly, who was still out to ruin Sonny & Brenda’s wedding. She would wait for the perfect moment to tell Sonny that Brenda had a baby. (Like women don't have babies every day or something...)

At one point Spinelli and Mikey discussed the weather while standing on a sidewalk.

Spinelli recap 5-13-11

Thank goodness for Spinelli being on todays episode...

Spinelli comes into the penthouse to see Sam laying on the couch. He wants to know where Jason is. Sam says she shooed him away, that she can take care of herself. Sam is worried about pushing Jason, Spinelli wants to know if the surgery was a success. Its too soon to tell. Spinelli thinks they will be excellent parents.

Spinelli knows she can take care of herself, but made her tea. Spinelli offers to take on more at work. She says just because she had the proceedure, doesnt mean she will have a baby. its not just her decision. He brings up her brother. Spinelli says Jason made decisions to protect his child. Spinelli says Stone Cold will embrace any child put in his arms. He says not to let the fear interfear with having a baby. He says Jake can not be replaced, but thinks Sam will be a great Mom.

Dante calls Spinelli. Spinelli has access to know what she was saying in the car, vie the radio. He also breaks down the car, so they can not get away. Carly wants to know if they have the right house. Spinelli wants to know if he doubts him. The picture in the frame is not Lucien.

Brenda bangs on the door. She wants to know where he is. He thinks she means Jason, who he says isnt home. Brenda says she is his mother. She has a right to know where her son is.

Brenda wants to know where he is. She is begging him. He says Mr. Sir is doing everything he can and will keep him safe. She figures out that Dante & Carly are with Sonny.

Spinelli says he doesnt have exact details. He knows Sonny & Carly willl return with her toddler. Spinelli thinks he may not wanted to get her hopes up. Brenda just wants to be there when they find her son. She knows he is very good at his job.

The Sky Is Falling.

Yes Chicken Little we hear you now.  The sky truly did fall today in the soap world.  Today BOTH One Life to Live and All My Children have been canceled.  Poof Gone for some low cost junk television. We will lose AMC in September and OLTL in January.  My heart has sunk for the end of these programs but I truly fear for the end of the genre of soap operas completely.   The writing is and has been on the wall for while. I really believe not only will there be no soaps on ABC in 5 years I don't think there will be any on regular broadcast channels at all  Including CBS and NBC.

I am numb.  I grew up with ABC soaps.  I was always a GH fan first but through different stories I watched both AMC and OLTL.  I actually had a much more drawn out blog post in my head before I started and now all I want to do is cry. My daughter will never reach an age that we can enjoy these shows together.  That I can share the history and the life in soaps that other show just can't have.  There is something about telling a story in serial daily format.  The excitement of a drawn out story which can weave in history since the show is 30 plus years old.  I actually loved the stupid soapy things that happens. People having evil twins, switch at birth, coming back from the dead, weaving in fantasy and supernatural elements.

Its a grand adventure and I know they will have fun along the way.

Blake Clark, Brett Rice, Bradford Anderson and Rhea Seehorn are set as the supporting cast of TNT's untntitled Allan Loeb pilot.

Based on Marshall Karp's novel The Rabbit Factory, the Allan Loeb project centers on recently widowed police detective Mike Lomax (Steven Weber) and his newly married partner, Det. Terry Biggs (D.L. Hughley). Rice will play their boss. Clark will play Lomax's father-in-law who serves as his surrogate father. Seehorn, repped by Phoenix Artists and Untitled, will play a hot and smart medical examiner. Anderson will play a top computer investigator working at the homicide offices

Support Campaign

Jenna from the Spinelli LJ has put together a great Spinelli/Bradford support campaign called "Unshackle the Jackal". A few years ago the highly successful Hugs for Spinelli campaign brought our fave GH character some much needed support. Fans, it's time to push for more story for Spinelli's character. As Jenna wrote:

Spinelli’s storyline has decreased since his non-wedding to Maximista. For now TPTB have taken the character of Maxie into another direction, which is fine…But where has that left our favorite Jackal? It has left him in shackles at the penthouse. We have seen him leave the penthouse on rare occasion over the last several months. Twice it was to see Jason in jail. Another time was to see Carly at Metro Court, and lastly we know he left the penthouse to give Jason/Sam alone time…though we didn’t get to see him at his office. His office. That’s right our Jackal owns his own PI business. Why not give him a case (outside the mob) to work on?

This is something everyone can participate in. Our main focus though is to get Spinelli out of the penthouse, and having a storyline that is more focused on his character, while at the same time still having presence in other storylines (like Jason or the current Carly storyline). One can easily bring up the fact that if Maxie wants to snoop around for evidence about Lisa Niles…She would contact the Jackal.

The Jackal is so much more then Jason’s tech guy or Maxie’s latest boyfriend. He is a very valuable character on canvas. It’s time to unshackle the Jackal.

Where Do We Go From Here?

You know I was just thinking to myself how the Spinelli/Maxie drama has basically brought Spinelli's character to a clean slate. This is the perfect time for a completely new story and direction for the character. Personally, I think it's time to learn about the Jackal's backstory. That's been a long delayed question on GH: where are Spinelli's parents/family? Where did this strange creature come from? So that's the direction I'd like to see GH take with his character now that things have settled in the "Spixie" area.

What about you? Do you want to see a backstory play out? Or are you still hoping for more "Spixie" scenes? Or maybe you've thought of a completely different idea for where his character could go. Let us know in the comments!

2010 Daytime Emmy Awards: A Review

Last night I was so excited.  It was Daytime Emmy night. I haven't watched GH for weeks (maybe months) I was still excited. I had twitter  set up. I was watching http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/ red carpet internet stream (thank you by the way) 

I told my estranged husband that I was watching the Daytime Emmy Awards and thats that. I was set. The only thing missing was my BBQ chips and orange soda.   I was so excited.  

I will start by saying while very few of the nominees I was rooting for won that doesn't' mean they were not deserving and it doesn't mean the people who won were also not worthy (I just didn't know any of them)   I am used to award shows in that matter betting an upset.  Not the reason I am so bitter.   

First lets start off by no Red Carpet coverage by ether SoapNet or CBS. Huge Fail.  Its one of the most exciting things that happen.  It gives some of the actors there only  chance to shine for a moment.  I am grateful that http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/ gave us an internet stream. Even with the tech difficulties I was grateful for the effort and realize this was something new for them. 

Remember last year when it was on The CW?  It was a bit too young and hip but you know what that was ok.  They tried and it was still the Emmys  The Emmy last night was a horrible.   I adore Dick Clark Love him, but to waste 20 minutes of the Daytime Emmy awards for a tribute. A tribute that was wasn't something most associate with Daytime.   The music guests was a horrible choice.  Its not that they are bad its just that it was like watching granny vision.  Actually it would have put most old people to sleep.  

If that was the only issue it would have been ok. Its is Dick Clark.    

Then we were given fillers of time for some Broadway shows shorts.  There was at least 3 maybe 4 (maybe more ) were also  'treated' to a tour of the Vegas hotel. Was this all a big joke?     Then when it came time for the awards.  The names of the nominees were said they were said too FAST. I am surprise the announcer didn't pass out from not breathing.   Then umm NO actor reels NONE.  We had a few QUICK clips for Best Soap t.  That was it.  These amazing actors are nominated and they were not honored in anyway.  We could have taken all that lame fluff of those Broadway numbers and given daytime the party it deserved.  This may be our last Emmy award broadcast. This will be our final memory.   

Oh I forgot ATWT was given a tribute. Thats good right?  no wait it was way too short. If you blinked it was over. 

I gave up after the first hour.  I went back later and fast forward through most of it just stopping at the real award show parts. 

Oh and those that think they fell asleep and missed the little bit every award shows has remember the people who are now gone. Nope you didn't miss it they didn't' have it.   This is an award show staple. 

It was a disgrace. I am so embarrassed for Daytime.  The art form of the  daily serial may indeed be on life support and about ready to breath its last.

I just read on on the Spinelli Livejoural. There is a soaps in depth blurb about Bradford recent injury on the Soap Cruise and how it will affect the show.

WOW sorry

i just realized i have not posted here in over 3 months??  If you look it was around September that it all went down hill.  Well thats when my marriage started to fall apart. I am sorry. I will work harder at getting stuff posted and besides the stupid thing with Maxie and Franco very little has changed in Spinelli's life so carry on..

End of the Year Wrap Up!

Kittens, it's been one hell of a Spinellified year on General Hospital:

The Good: The Non-Wedding & Jackal PI

General Hospital knew that when it comes to Spinelli and Maxie, nothing can happen by the book. So, of course the most romantic expressions of love and devotion had to happen when they decided to CALL OFF their wedding. Also, it was such a total BONUS for Spinelli to finally break out of Jason's shadow just enough to start up a PI firm with Miss Sam. Team SPAM for the win!

The Bad: Jail Bird & Betrayal

The Jackal had a lot of tough luck in the beginning of the year...Especially when the Feds came a knockin' regarding his less than legal hacking skills after being duped by the (thankfully GONE) Spinelli clone Winnifred. Then, Spinelli's heart was broken repeatedly twice due to Maxie, first after she slept with him to keep him away from Winnie-the-Fed, and secondly when she couldn't figure out her feelings regarding Johnny. Needless to say, this stories brought some extremely great glimpses at the powerhouse Bradford Anderson can be. The man should not just be restricted to comedy.

The Karaoke: Life was a musical for Spinelli this summer. First he worried about impressing Maxie with a serenade, unable to carry a tune in a bucket. Miraculously, though, she inspired him to really belt it out to "I Wanna Know What Love Is" in one of the most heartwarming scenes in General Hospital History. Then, there was the Karoke at the non-reception where the rest of GH sang to Maxie and Spinelli. After everyone left, Spinelli got a chance to sing sweetly to his Non-Mrs in a moment that channeled the Frisco/Felicia wedding of Maxie's parents.

Definitely his most diverse year to date. We can only hope for more to come in the new year.

Let me tell you a little story. I will keep it brief. Or rather try.

One day in February 2007 I started this blog. As simply a place to post the amazing fan videos and to post updates on Bradford. I was in awe of his acting and really got me right before the metro court crisis.. A few days after it started.. JUST a few days. I got an email from a fellow fan. She like I was concerned that Bradford was still recurring and didn't have a contract yet. We would email back and forth and slowly we became more then just fellow fans we be friends.

I adore the woman most of you know as Spikey. She is smart, fiery, caring, honest and simply amazing. A few months ago I found out she had cancer. I was blessed like many of you that she decided to share some of her experiences on twitter.

Then right after she left to go the hospital i was like what can I do for someone that guards her privacy like the secret service protects the president. I recalled seeing the twibbons and thought that it would be nice for her to come out of the hospital an see some ribbons and know that we were (and are) pulling for her.

Now I have lost count the amount of money that been given and pledged to an animal shelter in Manchester NH in honor of this special girl.

Not only that this collective love in has shown me that our little twitter world is a tight little bunch .. thank you.

In awe of the blue ribbon, and my hospital stay.

I am up, trying to eat a banana and drink some water. Eating small bits many times a day, and right now, I retch and feel gross. I am told not to expect to feel like myself for a while... baby steps..

So, this was my week.. Hope this might be some help to people who are going through similar things..

I drank the seawater, as you all know--you guys agonized through that with me. You feel pretty weak, since you have nothing but clear liquids. I was scheduled to be at the hospital at 11:00.

My family was all there and the hospital was packed. This is a cancer hospital, and it's overwhelming how many people daily are there. It's our number one killer, and it's obvious.

Anyway, they finally called me back (I was ready to get it over with and starved to death). Doctor went over what they were doing to me, and she told me that she was so proud that I chose life over vanity. She would get all this cancer. Anesthesiologist told me that he was going to give me an epidural. I knew that was a stick to the back, (from having my daughter) but he said the drug he'd give me before hand would make me not care if I was stuck or not. That was the last thing I remember.

My family are big Tennessee Vols fans, (season ticket holders for many years) and so they did a Vols walk cheer when I went into surgery. I remember none of this, but I am told I had a big smile on my face and met my older brother's eye and looked at him like "Why do you look like this?" He had his lip stuck out. They are a religious bunch and they pray alot and have alot of faith, but they were definitely worried.

I dont' remember anything after that except feeling like hell and seeing my family standing in ICU with me and smiling and telling me I made it through. I agreed and went back to sleep.

When I woke up and finally got a chance to examine myself, I had an epidural in my back (A nurse told me that they were pumping terminal patient type drugs in there) a huge scar down my abdomen with staples. My butt has been sewed up, and IV also in my right side (they didn't use my chemo port a cath at all) I had two drainage bulbs sticking out of my abdomen, and a large bag attached to what they call my stoma. (which is the Illeostomy) You guys can see why I'm a bit sore right now, and can't be my Spin fandom loving self.

I got out of ICU the second day, and they took me off some of the nutrition being pumped into my body, and wanted me to eat by myself. That was hard and I felt sick. On Saturday Morning, I felt like myself for about three hours. I was still on the epidural, and I was hungry. I got up and walked, took a sponge bath and my doctor came in. I was doing so good, she took me off the drugs, and I was to feed myself. UGH, back to feeling sick again and I really havent' felt myself since, although I had good days and bad.


My husband has been a rock. He slept on the couch from hell beside me for a week, and he learned how to attach the bag to the stoma in one sitting. The Stoma nurse was in awe that he wanted to do it himself and did it with very little instruction. We had a very eventful week, this past week. Giving my daughter away at the wedding, (and she's not HIS daughter, but they are father/daughter to each other) and then this. Things happen for a reason, I truly believe that and I was completely moved by this man who I've been married to for so many years. You take things for granted and I vow I won't do that again.

My mother's brother had three heart attacks while I was going through this. People who know her feel she is a "Melanie" almost too good person. She thinks of everyone but herself and it broke my heart to see her going through so much pain over me and then her brother. I love my family so much. My younger brother (who is nuts) and sister visited me one day when my husband was off doing some needed business to get us through, and they made me laugh which HURT. Did I say I love my family?

One thing that made me feel wonderful was the incredible outpouring while I was away. I was honestly moved to tears when I heard from my daughter through Penny what you guys were doing. I couldn't believe it. I still get teary when I see all this. THANK YOU GUYS so much. I showed my husband all this and he thought it was incredible and moving too. My daughter read Lindsay's piece on BAFB and told me it made her cry, along with all the blue ribbons up there.. ETA because it must be mentioned, SPECIAL THANK YOU for Nami and @gwaddie on Twitter.. I didn't get to read that till after I wrote that. Wow.

Anyway, I'm home and hopfully back to normal soon.

Really loved that Johnny, Spinelli and Claudia scene yesterday. Also, Jaspin were great. Good job Michele Val Jean!

What is a fan community?

...A place for fans to go and share their love for a certain something...

Over time, or perhaps even instantaneously, you can form a bond with a stranger all due to your shared interests. It's a strange phenomenon, especially via the internet, where people can hide behind anonymity. We get ourselves a screen name, put up an avatar, and let the fun begin.

Sometimes, though, you get the opportunity to form a stronger bond with a fellow fan. I have been so wonderfully blessed to have Spikey in my life. She's fought tooth and nail for respect for Bradford and Spinelli, worked her ass off collecting information on a daily basis for the greater community, and always been a true fan to her bone. She's not in it for the hot factor, she's not in it for the trend, she's not in it for the clique. Spikey appreciates a good character and a talented actor and has given up a lot of her time so that other fans could join in and share her love.

She and I have fought like cats and dogs a few times...(I think I got the LJ shut down for like...10 minutes a while back...You know I've got that *bitch* streak in me) and we don't always agree on storyline or what's best for GH...but this woman has also defended me against those that harassed me. She's listened to me talk about the troubles in in my life, chatted with me through the two most boring and somewhat lonely years of my college career, even encouraged me in many different directions.

On a bigger scale, what has she NOT done for Spinelli fans? She created the Spinelli LiveJournal. That's pretty much home base for most of us. She has every single article/pic/clip of Bradford Anderson known to man...She's the Vault De Bradford. HOW many times has she wandered into the hell of DD just to find us some spoilers? She's such a badass, even Mr. Anderson himself reveres her (Think Emmys submission advice).

And that's why it simply warms my heart that when *OUR GIRL* needs our support for one of the toughest battles she's ever going to face, you people are THERE. For those of you sporting the Support Spikey ribbon on Twitter, I salute you. Even Bradford is wearing it now. We're over 100 supporters now! THAT is impressive.

8:27am. I have no idea where I stopped off Will post when I figure out what air date I am on.

8:33am my DVR says I am on airdate 8-24-09. I think I may have deleted a few episodes before that. So hopefully I am not confused. Jason is all wounded Sam is talking talking to him.

8:36am ok I defindly lost a few episodes. I have no idea what is going on. Sonny is talking to Claudia he started a scolorsh for the the baby they lost. Does he does this for all the women he impregnats and they lose a baby?

8:41am. Morgan says thats random and then it cuts to Nik and Elizabeth kissing in the rain. Gosh I am so lost.. LOL

8:44am ff... ff... ff... wait Jax knows about the Dante?

8:55am Ok that episode is done. Realized when you play music and fast forward GH its like they are dancing. No Spinelli in this episode but adorable Morgan was so adorable. Why is Sam and Jason kissing if Jason was just seriously hurt???

9:01am Airdate 8-25-09 Jason just took Sam's shirt off and when I am fast forwarding Morgan looks like Spinelli. They dress a lot a like. LOL

9:11am Lots of Fast forwarding. No Spinelli yet, Jason and Sam have sex and then his is playing with a gun. That didn't sound right LOL. Saw Kristina and Micheal are still on the beach but she is fawning all over Kiefer. eww Kristina Fast Forwarding.

9:19am Episode 8-25-09 is DONE. ended with Elizabeth taking a bubble bath with candles of course. Candles are important. Where is my Spinelli???

Jax tell Carly that he found Micheal just as Jason and Sam swoop in and save the kids from some drunk beach goers. Where did Spinelli go? To buy ivy or something?

12:12pm Jason and Sam getting gitty over who gets deal with the drunk thug threating Micheal. Murder mystery stuff not that its been much of a mystery. Kate sighting.

12:24pm WTF,, Kate was 'undercover' the whole time a whole storyline happended (that would have been interesting) and we missed it? News is also spreading around that the wayward teens have been found.

12:28pm interesting. Jax pays Morgan to eat healthy snacks ot keep Carly's diet healthy.. Would be sweet if it wasn't so creepy.

12:50pm creepy doctor checks out Jason while Micheal runs off to 'work' and Claudia over hears that its Kristina that caused the accident.

1:05pm Airdate 8-31-09 Micheal and Jason comparing brain damage. LOL Both Kristina and Micheal know that Alexis has taken the fall for the accident.

1:15pm Claudia is vowing revenge Again.. LOL Micheal wants to live on the beach forever lol. Like that worked out so great for him LOL

1:24pm drat Jason and Sam are stopped by the kids I hate when that happends LOL

Claudia gets all creepy on Carly and Sonny tries and assigns his son Dante as his son's guard. I like like being your own papa?

1:33pm ahh Micheal is trying to do something nice for his mom ahhh. He asked his sister to keep quiet that the guy who killed is grandfather was involved in their adventure. How sweet.

1:40pm Jason and Sam makes goo goo eyes on each other and the episode ends.

1:47pm Airdate 9-1-09 kids are home and Spinelli is talking to a cut out Jason. LOL.. and the episode has a warm feel like a nice blanket. Michele Val Jean is by far my favorite writer.

Emmy Round-Up

First I found out via twitter that Bradford didn't win the Emmy THIS year in the restroom at my work after just finishing my break. So I couldn't wait. LOL

Amy from the Scrubs Hub got bleacher seats at the red carpet. She posted on twitter lots of the video and pictures she was able to get. It was great because I felt like I was there at times. You can find a lot of her posts on the Scrubs Hub twitter http://twitter.com/thescrubshub

Bradford presented an award with Kirsten Storms and Bindi.. Yes Bindi the Jungle Girl. Any moms of young kids have that song stuck in their heads now. "Bindi... Bindi the Jungle Girl...BINDI" I love Bindi. ok ok back to the presenting. LOL I had been waiting for someone to post clip and here it is.. So cute..

Oh one more thing. Spikey posted this cute little screen cap at the spinlj and its just too sweet.

Bradford and the Emmy's

SAD DAY that Bradford didn't win the Emmy last night. Even with my displeasure with the writing staff at GH and their treatment of the Spinelli character and the Spixie relationship, Bradford SO deserved to win the Emmy. He looked adorable with this cute fiance in the audience, and I loved he, Kirsten and Bindi Irwin's presentation on stage with Bradford carrying out a box for Bindi to stand on. :)

I was also sorry that Kirsten didn't win an Emmy, but I know that she was thrilled for Julie Berman. She looked so shocked!! Maybe the fact that this was the ONLY win for GH last night will give a wake up call to TPTB that some serious house cleaning needs to go on over at GH - and by that, I mean BEHIND the scenes, not continuing to kill off beloved characters!

Becky Herbst and Tyler Christopher looked dashing during the fashion show segment, even if I'm not thrilled about the Niz pairing. They are spectacular to look at, regardless of their character arc!

On a non-Bradford/GH note, I just loved Betty White's speech about The Guiding Light. I love me some Betty White!! She is such a hoot and a half and a real class act.

This was actually a fairly good Emmy presentation, but I admit to fast forwarding through a lot of it thanks to a lack of GH nominations. Let's hope Bradford is given some great material to work with before next years noms!

its the Emmy's baby

Tomorrow is the Daytime Emmy Awards that almost didn't happen. I am so excited. I am so excited that Bradford has been nominated. I hope some of you are having viewing parties and dressing up pretty. I will saddly be working till 9:30. :(

So I need your help for a very important question. Should I spoil my self with the results before hand or wait to find out till I can watch it?

YES I told Rene' to post her feelings. I consider everyone feelings valid. Always have or I would not have so many contributors. Did I make an error in telling Rene' to post? Do her's and other fan's options not matter? I don't think so at all. I was reading the messages over at the spinelli live journal and i am sorry so many are upset over what she said.

I have not watched GH in two weeks. I don't even have a reason for not doing this. Spinelli is just going to be saying the same thing over and over again so I am sure i didn't miss anything. I have not seen the episode that has people so upset. I been very busy being a wife and mother (my baby is in kindergarten and we went to the beach before school started) I question that part of me is like Rene' and doesn't have the heart to see her Spinelli act this way.

Rene' didn't say to start a campaign to hate on Spinelli. She said that right now she doesn't have the the heart the watch a character she loves act this way. It brings me back to May of 2007. The crazy baby stalking Spinelli. When he becomes nothing more then a story prop. I don't agree with her words of "Spinelli Boycott" but those are are her feelings. I know not everyone is happy about the current storyline. I asked the question about dumbing down Spinelli in that recent interview because i knew it was a fan concern.

I am very much a positive person. I want Spinelli and Maxie to get married. I want Maxie knocked up. Give me butterflies and roses darn it. LOL I know nether of these are some fan favorites for directions but we are all different.

Then again I am not watching the past two weeks am I? Whats that say? People are down about the current storyline. What is it about that? Perhaps it seems in a few weeks Spinelli has been stripped of a lot of his growth the past two weeks. I would like to think he has grown. So expect the real Spinelli will be back soon. His storyline has kinda gone in circles the past few months and Maxie was a complete skank whore in the limo so hey all characters do hair brained things that not even their fans can understand.

Spinelli Boycott

Well, I debated on whether or not to post this blog. I sent a private message to Penny, expressing my thoughts, and in true Penny fashion, she said if I felt strongly, I should post. As she pointed out, I should be prepared for backlash, though she thought I wasn’t the only one upset at recent events. I know not everyone will agree with me, but it's my opinion, so I'm putting it into the universe. So here it goes.

I am boycotting Spinelli. By that, I mean I refuse to watch any scenes with the character of Spinelli until such time as the writers have decided to go back to the essence of what the character was intended to be instead of the mentally challenged buffoon he has become. My fast forward button will be in effect.

I fell in love with the character of Damien Spinelli because the cyberspeak, spastic gyrations and utter geekdom were nothing more than a cover for a MAN (yes MAN!) who was awkward, shy and unsure of his place in the world. Spinelli showed time and time again in his interactions with Lulu, Jason and a host of other Port Chuckles denizens that he was deeper than what appeared on the surface. He made me long to find out more about what lurked under the surface of his multicolored hoody.

Now, however, the writers have completely stripped away the depth of character that was Damien Spinelli and left him with nothing more than a shell of the former “man.” Now he’s not much more than a kindergartener, struggling to learn how to tie his shoes. How could someone who confessed such depth and pain to Jason a mere second in time ago now be so immature as to believe he and Maximista would live in the “regrettably pink room,” after their wedding? Of course, Maximista could decorate it to her taste! How could someone who was once more concerned about his friends than himself suddenly decide his worry over his proposal of marriage to Maxie, and an upcoming KARAOKE session?? - were more important than helping his friends find two runaway teenagers who may be in serious danger?

It seems like Maxie’s feelings for Spinelli are more about pity these days than love. I feel repulsed by their interactions rather than the spark of heat they once shared. There’s no other word for it – it’s ridiculous.

Even Spinelli’s proposal of marriage, rooftop supper and request for Maxie’s hand from Mac were more reminiscent of a mentally-challenged man than someone who knew deep down how much in love he was but perhaps was too awkward to carry out the task in the way he wished. Why couldn’t we see Spinelli share his true feelings in a deep and meaningful fashion instead of the way a sixth grader would propose to his playground girlfriend?

In the beginning, TPTB would always allow a glimmer of the intelligent and thoughtful man Spinelli was deep down to show through, even if it was only for a moment. Now, he’s a caricature. The comic relief. Not to be taken seriously.

Bradford Anderson is one of the most extraordinary talents I’ve seen grace the small or big screen. He has a range that exceeds many of today’s A-list celebrities, and yet, GH refuses to allow him to extend himself to the fullness of his capabilities. If I were Bradford, I would be mortified and LIVID at their lack of development for the character of Damian Spinelli.

I will be visiting the set of GH in a few weeks, and I may have the opportunity to see Bradford, having met him a time or two before. I’ve wondered what he may think of my boycott, but, after much thought, I’m wondering if he wouldn’t like to boycott the character himself at this point. Bradford is incredible. The writers of GH and their destruction of one of my favorite characters? Not so much. Let the flames begin.

Hey babes. I haven't blogged in a while. Lots of stuff going on for me. Moved to a new town, got a new apartment, transferred to a new college, got a haircut or two. You know, that whole "life" thing. I haven't really got to watch as much GH as I did before, but I tune in on occasion and generally like what I see. It is hardly perfect, but I think the writing is improving and I get the impression the show is desperately trying to get a solid grip on the multiple factors they have to consider. It is definitely ten times better than it was in early spring, which to this lifetime-fan felt like the lowest point the show has ever been. Mayve GH is trying to get a lot of complicated ducks in a row and I know that requires a patient audience.

I have mixed, but mostly good feelings about fall sweeps, and I'm enjoying Spinelli's continued importance both in dramatic and comedic aspects of the show. The Karaoke storyline totally blew me away and I have to give major props to Bradford and Kirsten for pulling that off beautifully.

Anyways, I'll try to blog more often. Ta Da!

Carts the Movie showing

Maybe it's me...

Maybe it is just me, but Spixie is everything I could hope for in a romantic story.  

Damian Spinelli has captured my heart through his gentle soul and different way of looking at the world.  A person like Damian Spinelli could easily become bitter and jaded but he seems to remain above the darkness with his ability to see the good in people.  And despite his (up until now) constant rejections, he has also remained a hopeful romantic.

Maxie has forever been a creature of loss.  She has lost so much that she had built walls that could not be broken, could not be gotten around.  Until Spinelli came along. With the simplicity of true love and belief in the goodness that resided in the deepest recesses of her heart, he breached those walls and found his way inside.

Spixie is a classic love story and yet, is so refreshingly different.

I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying this story right now, and hope that we get everything we deserve as viewers - young love and romance and true respect for a love partner.  Maybe it is because I am a hopeful romantic myself.  Maybe it is because of the actors - two phenomenal talents that jump off the screen.  Maybe it is because I still hold out hope for this kind of love in my own life.  Spixie is, in my opinion in the same category as some of the super couples in soap history.

From a Sewer to the Rooftop

Its rare but sometimes a real love story comes along. An epic story filled with heart and beauty. A bond formed when they both were in the a lowest point of their lives that carried them to this highpoint. There has been so much that has happend in the past year and a half, through it all they have both grown and achieved so much that they simply would not without the other.They complete each other...

I could be tired but I am seeing symbolism everywhere to Spinelli soiling her designer shoes in a sewer to giving her a ring on a rooftop.

Maxie had lost her sister and lover by tragic death while at a career standstill till finding real true love and getting the job of her dreams. Spinelli dreaming of becoming a PI to really BEING a PI and him fnally able to completely give his heart away to someone else.
