6/17/11 Spinelli recap

Writer: Michele Val Jean (aka one of my fave script writers)

Spinelli brings Sam to the hospital. He wants to call Jason, Sam doesn't want him to. Robin is there...and Patrick brings her a wheelchair.Spinelli thinks she might be pregnant.

Spinelli is pacing back and forth, Maxie sees him when she gets off elevator. She says he looks a little green. She says she isnt sick. She wants to sit and talk. He plops right down on the ground (at nurses station). She joins him. He says he has been a bad friend, Maxie doesnt believe him. He says he didnt have his partners back. He should have taken better care of her. Maxie wants him to go back. Spinelli talks about the surgery. Maxie says stakeouts can be kind of boring. Spinelli says Sam had some cramping due to his bad hiding spot. Maxie says maybe she just hasnt healed yet.

Spinelli knocks on Sam's door and he and Maxie walk in. Spinelli starts to fluff her pillows to make her comfortable. Maxie doesnt want him to hover. Sam says they are running a lot of tests. Spinelli says including the pregnant one? Maxie says Spinelli over involved, she explains that SPinelli thinks he might have had something to do hurting her unborn child?? Sam says come on, she is sure she is not pregnant. He says timing will tell. Spinelli is getting excited about the possiblity. Maxie says its fine to hope they have a child one day. Maxie wants to wait til results come. Spinelli wants to give him something her heart desires. She wants a mango smoothie.

Maxie tells Robin to tell Matt that she is making a smoothie run with Spinelli. (I like how they pretty much have Robin back to pro-Spixie again)

Robin tells Matt that Maxie left with another man.

Maxie wants to know how mango take taste so yummy in a smoothie and so bad by itself. Spinelli says really you think mango is gross? Maxie says its mushy and smells like socks.

Lisa starts hearing all these voices at once...And lets off the gun. She tells Steve, Maxie, Robin and Patrick to get in conference room. She tells Lucky & Spinelli to stay out of it, and get in elevator. She threatened to shoot Maxie in the head. The door is locked behind them.

(I love Brianna and the character of Lisa...This is a LOT of fun to watch. Kudos to Brianna)

Spinelli wants to charge into the conference room. Lucky says no. (At the beginning of episode he was calling her Maxie, and now she is Maximista). Lucky tells him he is the tech guy he wants him to get on his computer and figure out a way around the lock down. Spinelli goes to the nurses station computer and starts to pound. Lucky is on the phone with Mac. Lucky tells him to work on the lock down, not the ventalation system.

Maxie is going off on Lisa (duh of course she would) when Lisa is about to shoot her. Spinelli jumps through the vent, and says cease and exist. Maxie yells Spinelli.

Spinelli gets up and tells Lisa not to threaten Fair Maximista. Lisa tells everyone to sit down. She says you really are a moron arent you? He wants her to put the gun down, and not to make things worse for herself. Spinelli says she is obviously ill. He thinks the authorities would take that into consideration as long as no one gets hurt. Lisa wants to know who will take her pain and humiliation into consideration? Spinelli says he understands romantic disappointment. He says he knows what it means to invest your entire soul and being into a romantic relationship that doesnt work out. He says the pain is (word I dont know how to spell) and sometimes unbearable. He says taking revenge on the object of your affection does not (big word for take away) your pain. Lisa says you really expect me to take love advice from you? She tells him to have a seat and calls him a pathetic loser (oh she called him a nerd earlier)...Maxie says she cant talk to Spinelli like that. Spinelli tries to stop her, but Maxie goes off on Lisa again. Spinelli leaps in front of Maxie, when the bullet goes off and he gets shot. Maxie yells Spinelli.

Spinelli (and Maxie) were both trending topics. Guza getting fired & Garin Wolf getting hired has trended in the past. We have been told in the past (I believe by Frons) that Spinelli would never be a main course, that he was a side dish. Too bad side dishes are the best part of the meal, and once again we proved him wrong. We also proved Oprah wrong who said no one is home during the day watching soaps anymore.

6/16/11 Spinelli recap

Jason wants to know if Spinelli has found Anthony's location yet. He says he'll know it. Spinelli gave Krissy & Mikey a autographed copy of his novel for graduation. He wanted to know if they liked it. Jason says he is sure they did. Spinelli wants to discuss the sequel. Jason doesn't want to be in it at all. Sam comes down. She has a stakeout with Spinelli. Jason is worried.

Jason reminds Sam that Dr. Lee (though we never see her anymore) says nothing strenuous for 3 weeks. Sam says she isn't. Spinelli apologizes for his insensitivity and says its far too soon for the mother that would be to engage in this kind of investigation. Sam thinks its sweet. Sam doesnt think there will be danger. Spinelli says she must remain her fittest self so she may be with child. Sam says they dont need to talk about that. Spinelli wants her to rest. Sam says she is doing this. Spinelli wants Jason to go instead. Jason agrees. Both of them are shocked. He says he will if its that important. Spinelli is all excited that they will be working together.

Spinelli is very excited. He brings up Jerry Jax and the hostage crises. Spinelli wants to do more then whats expected of him. She wants them to work together but thinks their reunion should be on something better then this. She says she needs to take pictures in a waiters uniform. It needs to be her. Spinelli agrees. They leave, even though Jason is worried.

Watch GH

If you took GH off your Tivo/Dvr, reset it starting tomorrow. Don't just watch clips vie online. The past several weeks little by little we have been hearing tidbits of what is to come (and the more I hear...the more I can't wait). Out of respect for those who may be spoiler free (my lips are sealed). I will say this though, Bradford will be epic.

Spinelli recap 6-8-11

Spinelli was working in Sonny's office when Jason walked in. Spinelli makes note that he was out all night. He says he's been busy, Spinelli says him too. Spinelli wants to give him caffienated green tea (Jason wants to know how he drinks that stuff). Spinelli starts to talk about the tea when Jason asks what is on his computer screen. Its video streaming of Mr. Sir's business rivals. He says its simple but brillant. He says that the Zaccarrah's brillantly framed him for burning down the warehouse. Jason says he wasn't framed.

Spinelli thinks this seems uncharateristically of him. Jason tells him its the only language Anthony understands. Spinelli talks about Anthony and then wants to know why he would antagonize him. Jason says he has an agenda, a temper and he hopes this burning of the warehouse pisses him off, he strikes back...and then Johnny will realize war is too high and will shut his father down.

Jason tries the tea, he isn't impressed. Jason wants that same video feed at every one of their properties...which was the plan. Spinelli wants to know if he is ever worried he will freeze in a moment. Jason never thought of it. Spinelli wishes he could, instead of falling to pieces. He tells the choking tale of Maxie at Jakes. Jason tells him to forget Dr. Hunter, he has other strengths. Spinelli doesn't think computer skills are all that manly (oh geez not this again), Jason tells him he is one of the most brillant people he has ever met. A beep goes off on his computer and he says he has to go.

Spinelli walks into Crimson. Maxie is on the phone and Spinelli wheels her out of the way and says he watches things from afar and she has a computer virus. She says it sounds terrible. He says have no fear the Jackal can defend you from the forces of darkness. She is grateful. She is happy to see that he is back to his old self. She said when she saw him at Jakes the other night he seemed down and droupy. She says she thought something was wrong. He was surprised that she thought of him. She said of course just like he still looks out for her from afar. He says so we are still connected. She says of course. (Lets hope this doesn't turn into Spinelli pining over Maxie or her always asking for help with work, cuz that will get real old real quick)

Maxie comes in asking if he fixed the virus. He has. She gives him bbq chips and orange pop. He is thankful for the gesture. Maxie says its kind of like old times, but not really. She pulls up a chair and asks how he has been. Maxie asks about investigations. Spinelli says they have put on hold as his assistance is needed elsewhere. Maxie says Jason? Break into another fantasy. Spinelli says he torched the warehouse down, something with guns ablazin, and they had to stop Big Daddy Zarcarrah. (this fantasy was Spinelli/Jason)...The phone rings and back to reality as Maxie answers it.

6-7-11 Spinelli recap

Spinelli is sitting at Jakes on the phone. Maxie sees him and says she didn't know he was gonna be there (er um Maxie he hasn't reported to you his whereabouts in 11 months). She even apologizes for not seeing that he was on the phone. He asks her if he has heard from the Original Blonde one and mentions all the messages he has received from her (to locate Luke), and her taking over Haunted Star. Maxie fills him in. He wanted to know if he should assist her. Maxie doesn't think so. Maxie says its like his book, where every case ends up ok in the end. Maxie went on about the book. Praising him. He calls her Maximista. She points out its been a while and she thought he never would again. Matt, Robin, Patrick see them and comes over. They discuss why they are late. Maxie gets up and leaves poor Spinelli at the table alone.

Spinelli watches/listens as the 4 of them enjoy themselves. He gets up and starts to walk away. Robin calls him over to enjoy fries with them. Robin admits she hasn't read his book yet, but hears its great. Maxie says its amazing. She says it made 3 of the summers best reads list. Robin gets him a chair. Robin says she always wanted to write a book, and wants to know how it feels. Maxie says she would have invited him over to join them, but she assumed he was working. Maxie points to Matt/Patrick saying she assumes they haven't read the Secret Life of Damian Spinelli, but they should because its excellent. She then gets a phone call. Maxie goes to take the call from Kate. Patrick wants to buy another round as he has never sat and had a drink with a real author before. Matt wants to know what he he drinking. Orange soda it is. Maxie comes back complaing about Lulu. Maxie starts to choke. Spinelli askes if she is ok.

Matt does the hylimic on her. Spinelli apologizes. She says to Matt that he really is her hero.

This entry doesn't have anything to do with Bradford, Spinelli or even General Hospital... But it does have to do with Penny's adorable amazing daughter, and since Penny runs this site/blog I wanted to congratulate Team Abby and wish them a LOT of luck tomorrow in their walk. YAY to Bradford working LOTS!

So if you took GH off your TIVO/DVR to record…Reset it now. If you are home during the day and have been watching something else instead…Fix that starting now. Several weeks ago vie his co-workers tweeting sounds like Bradford started to work lots. Sounds like he was filming with Kirsten, Kimberly, JT and Brianna (these scenes should be airing soon...sounds like there is a hostage with Lisa (I may be the only one but I like Lisa/Brianna has been rockin the crazy Lisa story), and Spinelli saving Matt and an injured Spinelli).

This week he filmed with Kelly, Steve, Kirsten, Maurice & Vanessa for sure. Filming lots with Kirsten? We also found out vie Kirsten that she did a photo shoot with Bradford. Does that mean a Spixie reunion is on the horizon? Together or not does sound like a story coming involving both of them (the photo shoot could be speaking volumes.) Who knows, I am just happy he is working more lately and with many different actors. And we should be seeing new adorable pictures soon. All good things in my book. I personally can't wait for more details to emerge.

What does a new head-writer at GH mean for Spinelli?

What does a new head-writer at GH mean for Spinelli? I honestly do not know. It could be the greatest thing in the world, or sadly it could mean the complete opposite. Since I choose to think it’s going to be the greatest thing in the world (even if those pesky rumors about GH ending in Sept. 2012 are true), I still think it’s fabulous.

During the writer strike, Garin Wolf (who has been on staff for years) took over as head writer. Need examples of what he wrote for Bradford/Spinelli during that time? Just look at post below. I remember the start of Spixie, seeing every character involved and Lucky actually getting to be the hero.

Wolf from what I remember wrote character driven stories. Even if you didn’t like what the character was doing or saying, at least you understood why. It made sense. A story that was started actually would have middle and an end. What an amazing ‘new ‘concept. I also, don’t recall the same characters involved in one or two main storylines that were going on. There seemed to be many storylines involving different characters, of course it’s only natural for some characters to intertwine into a few. I also, do not remember everything being about the mob or wanting someone dead. Wolf also understood the need for family, friendship, history of the show, love, adventure, etc, etc.

Are people going to complain under Garin Wolf’s reign too? Guarantee it. No one can please everyone at every given point, nor should they try. Everyone is different; everyone has their own ideas and their own favorites. No one will ever agree. The annoying Liason vs. JaSam wars will more than like continue even after GH turns its lights out for the very last time.

Getting back to what is really important…So what does all that mean for our Spinelli? Really the possibilities are endless. Maybe we will finally get to know why Spinelli was living with his Granny in Tennessee. Maybe we will get to know why he said up until Jason, his Granny was the only one who ‘ever gave a damn about him’. We know his Granny tortured him with a clown pitcher, and that’s why he is/was afraid of clowns. Does he even know who his parents are? If so, why and when did they drop him off with his Granny? Are his parents still alive? Maybe he was adopted and for whatever reason he ended up with his Granny. The possibilities are endless. Maybe he has siblings he never knew he had. (In my head I have always wanted Diane to be his mother, and Sam to be his sister. I fully believe Diane & Alexis would sleep with the same man.) Or seriously what happened to his family that makes him never mention them? Could these be in the secret files he doesn’t want Diane to ever see? If you want to learn about what makes Spinelli, Spinelli even more then we already know. If you want to find out more about his past, his childhood, etc let the TPTB know.

Do you want Spinelli reunited with his ex non-wife? Or maybe you have been waiting and praying for Spinlu to finally have their chance at love and happiness. Or maybe you have a different lady in mind for him (maybe a girl not in town yet), or maybe Siobhan, Elizabeth, Brooklyn, Carly, Sam, etc. Doesn’t matter who you’d like to see Spinelli paired with, but if you think he deserves to fall in love again. Let the TPTB know.

Maybe you actually want to see Spinelli working on some cases, and not just solving them behind his computer. I personally would love to see him out in the field investigating. Remember the Ian Devlin story? Remember the Text Message Killer story? Yeah, pretty sure both were under Wolf’s reign.
For whatever you want to see happen to Spinelli now that the possibilities are endless and there is pretty much a fresh start…let the TPTB know.

Garin Wolf named headwriter of GH

Soaps In Depth, Soap Opera Network, Soap Opera Source, and etc are all reporting what we all have been dreaming and praying for, for a while now. GUZA is out. While I hate to see anyone lose their jobs. I think its way past time. Its time for someone who understands history, actual storytelling, characters not being on everyday, love, adventure, friendship, family, have characters tell the story vs. plot points.

Garin Wolf is in. Remember Garin Wolf? He has been on the GH staff for years, but named headwriter during the writers strike. This man seemed to understand telling the whole story vs. plot points. He also wrote for everyone. Stories weren't as predicatable (remember when Jason didn't play the hero for once?)

Another good thing is it was the start of Spixie. Remember the sewers? I'm sorry drain storm?

May 4 and May 13 Spinelli recap

Spinelli found Diane snooping at his office. For my sanity, he didn’t believe that she was looking for a pen to write him a note (in which he picked up a container of pencils on his desk). He then started to get snippy with her. She then tried to pull off she wanted an update on the Brandon case, in which Spinelli’s lips were sealed. She tried to change the subject to the novel. She said they needed to start the sequel, and wanted to go through his cases. He informed her they were sealed for a reason. He brushes her off and says he has to work; she leaves and of course now is thinking he is hiding something.

Spinelli was at Sonny’s with Dante helping them track down Suzanne. Brenda comes in and started to demand what is going on. Sonny doesn’t want her involved as she is too emotionally attached. Spinelli later located Suzanne. She was in San Antonio and took money out of Theo’s account.

Once Sonny and Dante left and Brenda returned, she apologized and basically started to beg for information. He did let slip that Carly went with and that she may have reason to rejoice soon.

5-16-11 Recap

Brenda is going crazy that they still haven’t heard anything. Spinelli has confidence in them. He sticks up for Carly. Spinelli says to Brenda, as long as her son comes home does it really matter who brings him? Brenda still wants more information. Spinelli didn’t give up information. Spinelli doesn’t think his opinion is relevant on whether her son is safe with Sonny, Brenda disagrees. Spinelli basically says he is a good father, and will do everything he can to give her son a happy and healthy life.

Spinelli walks in on Sam reading his novel. She is enjoying it. He brought her a gift for her & Jason to share together (romance mood enhancing stuff).
Sam & Spinelli talked about her finding out that Alexis being her mother. She talks about losing her daughter (again). She is overwhelmed. She is unsure if she wants to have a child. Spinelli tells her she would be a wonderful mother. He says he knows bringing a child is a monumental decision. He apologizes for overstepping. She appreciates his support and says he is a good friend. Jason calls Spinelli to find something on Jax because he wants to fight Carly for custody of Joslyn.

Jason comes in (Sam reading novel on couch) and Spinelli is looking for information to use against Jax.

Spinelli April 2011 Recap

While it may have been raining almost the whole month of April in some states, in Port Charles they were suffering a Spinelli drought.
There was no April fool’s joke in Port Charles this year; Spinelli actually shared scenes with his old flame Maximista. He went to Crimson to tell her about the book (where he found her with mourning Lucky). Maxie and Spinelli gave each other many compliments. Bradford & Kirsten proved yet again they still have the magic and they still sparkle on screen together. She admitted she would always love him, and he admitted she was his inspiration for the novel. Maxie was going to write an article about his book in Crimson.

Spinelli was not interested in celebrating the release of his novel when his best buddy was grieving the loss of his son. He found out from Sam that Jason was being questioned for Brandon murder. (Not watching and wondering who Brandon is?, eh don't worry about it.) Spinelli quickly was looking for evidence to prove Jason was innocent. Maxie showed up and she had set up a book signing for him with Diane (yes that’s right Spixie fans…TWO days of scenes). She even brought him an outfit to wear. Maxie & Sam convinced him to go. Did we get to see all the ladies adoring him at this book signing? Sadly, no =(

Several days later, Spinelli was not willing to help Dante speak to Jason about the ‘Brandon’ case in which Jason was the primary suspect (though Dante believed Jason & Mikey were both innocent of the crime.) Diane lets Spinelli know that the novel was a huge success. She believed they would be asked to write another one. Spinelli said some of his files/cases were far too confidential for publication.

Then Spinelli went MIA for 17 episodes (aka the rest of April. While yes some could agrue time is different in fantasy land, 17 episodes is still 17 episodes.) I am thinking he was hired by the Queen of England to be head of security at Kate & Will’s wedding.

Looks like come June the drought may offically be over, things begin to bloom for our Spinelli.

Spinelli March 2011 Recap

Seemed like it took a few weeks before Spinelli went to visit Sam at the hospital, or be there for moral support for Jason (quick recap Sam was put in the Sonny & Brenda’s limo at the wedding and it blew up. Think Lily style.) Spinelli was reading Sam tales from the book he & Diane were working on, while she was in the hospital recovering. Jason should have realized by now he would of course be a character in the novel. He wanted Spinelli working to find Brenda (who had been MIA since the wedding) instead of writing the book. They made a deal…he could use Jason in the book if he found information on where Brenda was.

Spinelli figured out that Suzanne (her alias name) was not only married to Theo, but also Aleksander’s mother. Jason & Spinelli shared this information with Suzanne (who agreed to help save Brenda…I forget but somehow Suzanne & Theo are let go) and of course Jason is still seeking revenge for him almost killing Sam. He demands Spinelli to find him.

Jason was getting impatient as Spinelli continued to look for information on Theo’s whereabouts. Theo had a connection with the Trujillo family (whoever they were), but turns out they were being loyal, they refused to help Theo and gave him Johnny’s name.

While Jason was on his ‘errand’ Mikey stopped by the penthouse. Spinelli spilled the beans that it was about Theo. A call from Bernie came in about a shipment, Michael convinced Spinelli that the guys could handle it and not to bother Jason about it.

Spinelli showed concerns to Sam about her headaches. Jason gets back to the penthouse; Spinelli fills him in on Sam. Abby shows up to tell Jason what she thought Mikey was up to, Spinelli says he must have overheard him on the phone with Bernie.

Many episodes after Jake’s death we finally got to see Spinelli comforting Jason. It may have been a short scene, but my favorite part was Jason knowing Spinelli was going to hug him and basically invited him in for the hug. Spinelli offered to help find the driver, but Jason said the police could handle it. This was also the day that Spinelli received his copy of the finished book. Spinelli felt the book was insignificant, but Jason didn’t want to delay the release.

By Valentine’s Day, the good old overly used plot point came to Port Charles, though it did include Spinelli’s wonderful snarky hatred for Dante (love that). Lulu remembered Spinelli was her friend, of course it was purely for selfish reasons because she needed his help, and Spinelli being Spinelli, went and shared his heartache with Dante (and Mikey) so Lulu could plan a special surprise (gag me).
That night he spent it with the Valkyeri at Jakes where he found out that Carly was not the one trying to sabotage the wedding, and Sonny wasn’t listening to her warnings about Brenda and the baby. It was now time to step it up.

A different day, Carly informed Spinelli that she would expose Dante & Brenda at the wedding. Hanging out with someone who has mastered the art of lying, Spinelli did manage to lie to Jason & Sam why Carly really stopped by the PI office, but of course St. Jason knows Carly like the same black t-shirt he wears every day, and told her not to try and pull anything. Then did what he ‘does’ best ordered Spinelli to get back to work. Spinelli was to compare Alesander’s DNA with the suspects.
During the month there were more PI fantasies and more getting ordered what to do and when by Jason. Spinelli was still curious to what Carly was going to do at the wedding.


Spinelli saved the day (as usual) and found the true identity of the Balkan. Let’s face it Spinelli truly is the mastermind and hero of Port Charles.The Balkan was Theo Hoffman and Alesander’s father.
Spinelli escorts (or one could say her bodyguard) Molly to the wedding after finding her hiding in Diane & Alexis’s office and learning the truth that Theo is the Balkan. At the wedding is also, very sadly he made mends with Dante. =(

A Review of The Secret Life of Damian Spinelli

As a huge fan of the character of Damian Spinelli and General Hospital I throughly enjoyed this book. It was a departure from the usual storyline that is actually on the show with a lot more fantasy which is at the core of who the Character of Spinelli is. I wish the show itself would use more creative license to go this route with their storylines for Spinelli.

Carolyn Hennesy depicted Spinelli well but I feel at times she may have utilized too many cliche references to Film Noir or old movie classics. I like the utilization of it because that is a technique that is used on General Hospital when Spinelli is in PI mode but I think she went a little overboard. But all and all her writing made me laugh and I had a good time reading it.

This book, whether you enjoyed it or not, was a tribute to a wonderful and unique character that only could be developed on a Soap. Soaps are all about fantasy and it is a genre that should be celebrated. Buy the book if only to show how much you love Soaps and hope that you will be able to watch for some more years to come.

My special thanks go to Bradford Anderson without whom this character would be as flat as a piece of paper. Damian Spinelli is a success due to his creative and talented nature. I'm glad I read the book and would recommend to all who are fans of Soaps.

Spinelli January 2011 Recap

At the beginning of January, Spinelli barged into Diane’s office while she was in the middle of a meeting with Theo Hoffman. Of course Theo wasn’t pleased, and was even more unpleased when Spinelli sneezed. Theo was afraid of getting his germs. He threatened to stop working on the Brenda/Dante case. Diane, naturally praised Spinelli and how brilliant he is and Theo didn’t quit. What comes next is the start of the writing of the Spinelli book (I should have known better that GH/ABC was going to take a beloved character, pimp the book through the fan favorite character of Spinelli and actor and not actually show the character involved in a storyline at the time the book was released…more on that at a later date and time)

Spinelli had a brilliant idea. He asked Diane to help him write a book about the Jackal, PI. At first she laughed at him and brushed him off, but later agreed. There were some disagreements and laughs during their discussions and story ideas. Jason wasn’t too pleased when he first heard about Spinelli writing this book.

Spinelli also worked with Sam & Jason to find more information about Theo Hoffman. During the month, Sam was thinking that Spinelli didn’t want to work with her anymore. Spinelli just needed something creative to do. She assured him he would meet a great girl, because he was a great guy.

Spinelli started to help Brenda plan her wedding to Sonny, even if at first he was against the marriage. He hired a wedding planner. Later, Brenda & Spinelli discuss how hard it must have been for Sam to lose her own child (when really talking about her own loss)

Spinelli also shared scenes with Lucky (and even one with Siobhan). They thought that maybe Jerry Jacks was Alesander’s father. (Later this turned up not to be the case).

Spinelli also was working with Carly, who was still out to ruin Sonny & Brenda’s wedding. She would wait for the perfect moment to tell Sonny that Brenda had a baby. (Like women don't have babies every day or something...)

At one point Spinelli and Mikey discussed the weather while standing on a sidewalk.

Spinelli recap 5-13-11

Thank goodness for Spinelli being on todays episode...

Spinelli comes into the penthouse to see Sam laying on the couch. He wants to know where Jason is. Sam says she shooed him away, that she can take care of herself. Sam is worried about pushing Jason, Spinelli wants to know if the surgery was a success. Its too soon to tell. Spinelli thinks they will be excellent parents.

Spinelli knows she can take care of herself, but made her tea. Spinelli offers to take on more at work. She says just because she had the proceedure, doesnt mean she will have a baby. its not just her decision. He brings up her brother. Spinelli says Jason made decisions to protect his child. Spinelli says Stone Cold will embrace any child put in his arms. He says not to let the fear interfear with having a baby. He says Jake can not be replaced, but thinks Sam will be a great Mom.

Dante calls Spinelli. Spinelli has access to know what she was saying in the car, vie the radio. He also breaks down the car, so they can not get away. Carly wants to know if they have the right house. Spinelli wants to know if he doubts him. The picture in the frame is not Lucien.

Brenda bangs on the door. She wants to know where he is. He thinks she means Jason, who he says isnt home. Brenda says she is his mother. She has a right to know where her son is.

Brenda wants to know where he is. She is begging him. He says Mr. Sir is doing everything he can and will keep him safe. She figures out that Dante & Carly are with Sonny.

Spinelli says he doesnt have exact details. He knows Sonny & Carly willl return with her toddler. Spinelli thinks he may not wanted to get her hopes up. Brenda just wants to be there when they find her son. She knows he is very good at his job.

The Sky Is Falling.

Yes Chicken Little we hear you now.  The sky truly did fall today in the soap world.  Today BOTH One Life to Live and All My Children have been canceled.  Poof Gone for some low cost junk television. We will lose AMC in September and OLTL in January.  My heart has sunk for the end of these programs but I truly fear for the end of the genre of soap operas completely.   The writing is and has been on the wall for while. I really believe not only will there be no soaps on ABC in 5 years I don't think there will be any on regular broadcast channels at all  Including CBS and NBC.

I am numb.  I grew up with ABC soaps.  I was always a GH fan first but through different stories I watched both AMC and OLTL.  I actually had a much more drawn out blog post in my head before I started and now all I want to do is cry. My daughter will never reach an age that we can enjoy these shows together.  That I can share the history and the life in soaps that other show just can't have.  There is something about telling a story in serial daily format.  The excitement of a drawn out story which can weave in history since the show is 30 plus years old.  I actually loved the stupid soapy things that happens. People having evil twins, switch at birth, coming back from the dead, weaving in fantasy and supernatural elements.

Its a grand adventure and I know they will have fun along the way.

Blake Clark, Brett Rice, Bradford Anderson and Rhea Seehorn are set as the supporting cast of TNT's untntitled Allan Loeb pilot.

Based on Marshall Karp's novel The Rabbit Factory, the Allan Loeb project centers on recently widowed police detective Mike Lomax (Steven Weber) and his newly married partner, Det. Terry Biggs (D.L. Hughley). Rice will play their boss. Clark will play Lomax's father-in-law who serves as his surrogate father. Seehorn, repped by Phoenix Artists and Untitled, will play a hot and smart medical examiner. Anderson will play a top computer investigator working at the homicide offices

Support Campaign

Jenna from the Spinelli LJ has put together a great Spinelli/Bradford support campaign called "Unshackle the Jackal". A few years ago the highly successful Hugs for Spinelli campaign brought our fave GH character some much needed support. Fans, it's time to push for more story for Spinelli's character. As Jenna wrote:

Spinelli’s storyline has decreased since his non-wedding to Maximista. For now TPTB have taken the character of Maxie into another direction, which is fine…But where has that left our favorite Jackal? It has left him in shackles at the penthouse. We have seen him leave the penthouse on rare occasion over the last several months. Twice it was to see Jason in jail. Another time was to see Carly at Metro Court, and lastly we know he left the penthouse to give Jason/Sam alone time…though we didn’t get to see him at his office. His office. That’s right our Jackal owns his own PI business. Why not give him a case (outside the mob) to work on?

This is something everyone can participate in. Our main focus though is to get Spinelli out of the penthouse, and having a storyline that is more focused on his character, while at the same time still having presence in other storylines (like Jason or the current Carly storyline). One can easily bring up the fact that if Maxie wants to snoop around for evidence about Lisa Niles…She would contact the Jackal.

The Jackal is so much more then Jason’s tech guy or Maxie’s latest boyfriend. He is a very valuable character on canvas. It’s time to unshackle the Jackal.

Where Do We Go From Here?

You know I was just thinking to myself how the Spinelli/Maxie drama has basically brought Spinelli's character to a clean slate. This is the perfect time for a completely new story and direction for the character. Personally, I think it's time to learn about the Jackal's backstory. That's been a long delayed question on GH: where are Spinelli's parents/family? Where did this strange creature come from? So that's the direction I'd like to see GH take with his character now that things have settled in the "Spixie" area.

What about you? Do you want to see a backstory play out? Or are you still hoping for more "Spixie" scenes? Or maybe you've thought of a completely different idea for where his character could go. Let us know in the comments!

2010 Daytime Emmy Awards: A Review

Last night I was so excited.  It was Daytime Emmy night. I haven't watched GH for weeks (maybe months) I was still excited. I had twitter  set up. I was watching http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/ red carpet internet stream (thank you by the way) 

I told my estranged husband that I was watching the Daytime Emmy Awards and thats that. I was set. The only thing missing was my BBQ chips and orange soda.   I was so excited.  

I will start by saying while very few of the nominees I was rooting for won that doesn't' mean they were not deserving and it doesn't mean the people who won were also not worthy (I just didn't know any of them)   I am used to award shows in that matter betting an upset.  Not the reason I am so bitter.   

First lets start off by no Red Carpet coverage by ether SoapNet or CBS. Huge Fail.  Its one of the most exciting things that happen.  It gives some of the actors there only  chance to shine for a moment.  I am grateful that http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/ gave us an internet stream. Even with the tech difficulties I was grateful for the effort and realize this was something new for them. 

Remember last year when it was on The CW?  It was a bit too young and hip but you know what that was ok.  They tried and it was still the Emmys  The Emmy last night was a horrible.   I adore Dick Clark Love him, but to waste 20 minutes of the Daytime Emmy awards for a tribute. A tribute that was wasn't something most associate with Daytime.   The music guests was a horrible choice.  Its not that they are bad its just that it was like watching granny vision.  Actually it would have put most old people to sleep.  

If that was the only issue it would have been ok. Its is Dick Clark.    

Then we were given fillers of time for some Broadway shows shorts.  There was at least 3 maybe 4 (maybe more ) were also  'treated' to a tour of the Vegas hotel. Was this all a big joke?     Then when it came time for the awards.  The names of the nominees were said they were said too FAST. I am surprise the announcer didn't pass out from not breathing.   Then umm NO actor reels NONE.  We had a few QUICK clips for Best Soap t.  That was it.  These amazing actors are nominated and they were not honored in anyway.  We could have taken all that lame fluff of those Broadway numbers and given daytime the party it deserved.  This may be our last Emmy award broadcast. This will be our final memory.   

Oh I forgot ATWT was given a tribute. Thats good right?  no wait it was way too short. If you blinked it was over. 

I gave up after the first hour.  I went back later and fast forward through most of it just stopping at the real award show parts. 

Oh and those that think they fell asleep and missed the little bit every award shows has remember the people who are now gone. Nope you didn't miss it they didn't' have it.   This is an award show staple. 

It was a disgrace. I am so embarrassed for Daytime.  The art form of the  daily serial may indeed be on life support and about ready to breath its last.

WOW sorry

i just realized i have not posted here in over 3 months??  If you look it was around September that it all went down hill.  Well thats when my marriage started to fall apart. I am sorry. I will work harder at getting stuff posted and besides the stupid thing with Maxie and Franco very little has changed in Spinelli's life so carry on..

End of the Year Wrap Up!

Kittens, it's been one hell of a Spinellified year on General Hospital:

The Good: The Non-Wedding & Jackal PI

General Hospital knew that when it comes to Spinelli and Maxie, nothing can happen by the book. So, of course the most romantic expressions of love and devotion had to happen when they decided to CALL OFF their wedding. Also, it was such a total BONUS for Spinelli to finally break out of Jason's shadow just enough to start up a PI firm with Miss Sam. Team SPAM for the win!

The Bad: Jail Bird & Betrayal

The Jackal had a lot of tough luck in the beginning of the year...Especially when the Feds came a knockin' regarding his less than legal hacking skills after being duped by the (thankfully GONE) Spinelli clone Winnifred. Then, Spinelli's heart was broken repeatedly twice due to Maxie, first after she slept with him to keep him away from Winnie-the-Fed, and secondly when she couldn't figure out her feelings regarding Johnny. Needless to say, this stories brought some extremely great glimpses at the powerhouse Bradford Anderson can be. The man should not just be restricted to comedy.

The Karaoke: Life was a musical for Spinelli this summer. First he worried about impressing Maxie with a serenade, unable to carry a tune in a bucket. Miraculously, though, she inspired him to really belt it out to "I Wanna Know What Love Is" in one of the most heartwarming scenes in General Hospital History. Then, there was the Karoke at the non-reception where the rest of GH sang to Maxie and Spinelli. After everyone left, Spinelli got a chance to sing sweetly to his Non-Mrs in a moment that channeled the Frisco/Felicia wedding of Maxie's parents.

Definitely his most diverse year to date. We can only hope for more to come in the new year.

Let me tell you a little story. I will keep it brief. Or rather try.

One day in February 2007 I started this blog. As simply a place to post the amazing fan videos and to post updates on Bradford. I was in awe of his acting and really got me right before the metro court crisis.. A few days after it started.. JUST a few days. I got an email from a fellow fan. She like I was concerned that Bradford was still recurring and didn't have a contract yet. We would email back and forth and slowly we became more then just fellow fans we be friends.

I adore the woman most of you know as Spikey. She is smart, fiery, caring, honest and simply amazing. A few months ago I found out she had cancer. I was blessed like many of you that she decided to share some of her experiences on twitter.

Then right after she left to go the hospital i was like what can I do for someone that guards her privacy like the secret service protects the president. I recalled seeing the twibbons and thought that it would be nice for her to come out of the hospital an see some ribbons and know that we were (and are) pulling for her.

Now I have lost count the amount of money that been given and pledged to an animal shelter in Manchester NH in honor of this special girl.

Not only that this collective love in has shown me that our little twitter world is a tight little bunch .. thank you.

In awe of the blue ribbon, and my hospital stay.

I am up, trying to eat a banana and drink some water. Eating small bits many times a day, and right now, I retch and feel gross. I am told not to expect to feel like myself for a while... baby steps..

So, this was my week.. Hope this might be some help to people who are going through similar things..

I drank the seawater, as you all know--you guys agonized through that with me. You feel pretty weak, since you have nothing but clear liquids. I was scheduled to be at the hospital at 11:00.

My family was all there and the hospital was packed. This is a cancer hospital, and it's overwhelming how many people daily are there. It's our number one killer, and it's obvious.

Anyway, they finally called me back (I was ready to get it over with and starved to death). Doctor went over what they were doing to me, and she told me that she was so proud that I chose life over vanity. She would get all this cancer. Anesthesiologist told me that he was going to give me an epidural. I knew that was a stick to the back, (from having my daughter) but he said the drug he'd give me before hand would make me not care if I was stuck or not. That was the last thing I remember.

My family are big Tennessee Vols fans, (season ticket holders for many years) and so they did a Vols walk cheer when I went into surgery. I remember none of this, but I am told I had a big smile on my face and met my older brother's eye and looked at him like "Why do you look like this?" He had his lip stuck out. They are a religious bunch and they pray alot and have alot of faith, but they were definitely worried.

I dont' remember anything after that except feeling like hell and seeing my family standing in ICU with me and smiling and telling me I made it through. I agreed and went back to sleep.

When I woke up and finally got a chance to examine myself, I had an epidural in my back (A nurse told me that they were pumping terminal patient type drugs in there) a huge scar down my abdomen with staples. My butt has been sewed up, and IV also in my right side (they didn't use my chemo port a cath at all) I had two drainage bulbs sticking out of my abdomen, and a large bag attached to what they call my stoma. (which is the Illeostomy) You guys can see why I'm a bit sore right now, and can't be my Spin fandom loving self.

I got out of ICU the second day, and they took me off some of the nutrition being pumped into my body, and wanted me to eat by myself. That was hard and I felt sick. On Saturday Morning, I felt like myself for about three hours. I was still on the epidural, and I was hungry. I got up and walked, took a sponge bath and my doctor came in. I was doing so good, she took me off the drugs, and I was to feed myself. UGH, back to feeling sick again and I really havent' felt myself since, although I had good days and bad.


My husband has been a rock. He slept on the couch from hell beside me for a week, and he learned how to attach the bag to the stoma in one sitting. The Stoma nurse was in awe that he wanted to do it himself and did it with very little instruction. We had a very eventful week, this past week. Giving my daughter away at the wedding, (and she's not HIS daughter, but they are father/daughter to each other) and then this. Things happen for a reason, I truly believe that and I was completely moved by this man who I've been married to for so many years. You take things for granted and I vow I won't do that again.

My mother's brother had three heart attacks while I was going through this. People who know her feel she is a "Melanie" almost too good person. She thinks of everyone but herself and it broke my heart to see her going through so much pain over me and then her brother. I love my family so much. My younger brother (who is nuts) and sister visited me one day when my husband was off doing some needed business to get us through, and they made me laugh which HURT. Did I say I love my family?

One thing that made me feel wonderful was the incredible outpouring while I was away. I was honestly moved to tears when I heard from my daughter through Penny what you guys were doing. I couldn't believe it. I still get teary when I see all this. THANK YOU GUYS so much. I showed my husband all this and he thought it was incredible and moving too. My daughter read Lindsay's piece on BAFB and told me it made her cry, along with all the blue ribbons up there.. ETA because it must be mentioned, SPECIAL THANK YOU for Nami and @gwaddie on Twitter.. I didn't get to read that till after I wrote that. Wow.

Anyway, I'm home and hopfully back to normal soon.

Really loved that Johnny, Spinelli and Claudia scene yesterday. Also, Jaspin were great. Good job Michele Val Jean!

What is a fan community?

...A place for fans to go and share their love for a certain something...

Over time, or perhaps even instantaneously, you can form a bond with a stranger all due to your shared interests. It's a strange phenomenon, especially via the internet, where people can hide behind anonymity. We get ourselves a screen name, put up an avatar, and let the fun begin.

Sometimes, though, you get the opportunity to form a stronger bond with a fellow fan. I have been so wonderfully blessed to have Spikey in my life. She's fought tooth and nail for respect for Bradford and Spinelli, worked her ass off collecting information on a daily basis for the greater community, and always been a true fan to her bone. She's not in it for the hot factor, she's not in it for the trend, she's not in it for the clique. Spikey appreciates a good character and a talented actor and has given up a lot of her time so that other fans could join in and share her love.

She and I have fought like cats and dogs a few times...(I think I got the LJ shut down for like...10 minutes a while back...You know I've got that *bitch* streak in me) and we don't always agree on storyline or what's best for GH...but this woman has also defended me against those that harassed me. She's listened to me talk about the troubles in in my life, chatted with me through the two most boring and somewhat lonely years of my college career, even encouraged me in many different directions.

On a bigger scale, what has she NOT done for Spinelli fans? She created the Spinelli LiveJournal. That's pretty much home base for most of us. She has every single article/pic/clip of Bradford Anderson known to man...She's the Vault De Bradford. HOW many times has she wandered into the hell of DD just to find us some spoilers? She's such a badass, even Mr. Anderson himself reveres her (Think Emmys submission advice).

And that's why it simply warms my heart that when *OUR GIRL* needs our support for one of the toughest battles she's ever going to face, you people are THERE. For those of you sporting the Support Spikey ribbon on Twitter, I salute you. Even Bradford is wearing it now. We're over 100 supporters now! THAT is impressive.

As many of you know Spikey is fighting colon cancer. She has been through radiation and chemo and is not having her colon removed TODAY. She is going to kick cancer's but. We need to show our support.

Lets show our support to someone that gives us so much. She has given so much to this community spoilers, the whole Spinelli Lj, pictures, information. She is the queen at finding stuff.
