Soap columnist Lynda Hirsch speaks out on the Emmys

The most glaring omission this year -- maybe any year -- is Bradford Anderson (GH's Spinelli). The actor took a three-week role and turned it into a leading character. This guy has to memorize the most outlandish dialogue. Even when playing the fool, he is anything but. Unlike many actors, he does not need to act suave. Even when given the chance to be a hero, Anderson always lets that little "who, me?" edge come through..

100% totally agree. This was absolutely appalling. He was absolutely BRILLANT this year. In my 30 years of soap watching, never have I been this passionate about an actor's soap opera performance than i have been about Bradford this past year. Its a shame.

Without Bradford nominated, the Emmys are nothing but a big joke.

the only thing that makes me able to accept this is that all of the other ABC soap actors were equally dismissed.

if i were an actor who won an emmy this year...i'd believe it was tainted. this has angered so many people that it's hard to feel deserving.
