She talks to Angels.

Possibly one of the best GH character study videos that has ever been made:

Maxie..

Graveyards, sewers and Morgues. Why I love Spin and Maxie potential

There's something about where the unforgiven and unloved bond--in graveyards, sewers, morgues. It fits with how the town perceives them.

Maxie is surrounded by death and abandonment. She has a dead girl's heart beating in her chest.

Spinelli is ridiculed, bullied and treated as an afterthought, unless someone needs his genius brain. He can't deal with the reality of his life. He talks in third person about the Jackal and lives a vivid life of fantasy inside his head.

They come together because Spin was too blind to think that any girl would truly love him. Maxie is faced with the death of the one who always loved her unconditionally.

Very often, they stay within their facade. Maxie bringing the pain, thinking it will help someway with hers. Spin clinging to a computer and his Jackal Personna. Only Jason really knows "Damian"...until Maxie.

Maxie's personality is the type where she must poke and prod at things. She can't let it go, it's not in her. She pushes Spinelli to be himself, which is much like Sonny, but it's more a nosy thing with her and not because she is annoyed.

QUestions..

Why is it so hard to believe someone would love you?
Not the JACKAL--I'm asking YOU.
Why couldn't you love my Sister?
Would you have dumped her if Lulu suddenly wanted you?
why can't you see Lulu was using you as her little puppet?

We see her sideways poignant glances when he allows her to see his heart, and she averts her eyes so he won't see that she finds him a bit more than she expected.

And in turn, because of the circumstances that put them together in the first place, Maxie is letting him see her inner workings. Spin isn't calling her "wounded" for nothing. She tells him about BJ. How she wants to be more than just a shallow pretty girl. She confides how much that job with Kate means to her. HOw the death of her sister has destroyed her. Coop loved her and she sabatoged it with her own self-destructive behavior. She cries, she throws things, and Spin uncharacteristically takes initiative, hugs her and lets her cry the pain away.

We see through Spin's eyes that Maxie is a down deep good person, who lashes out because of her own pain. Spin tells her that they are both horribly misunderstood, and she runs from that truth. Spin finds her crying and she tells him that she is afraid.

So, yeah, they have their goofy hi-jinx adventures but it isn't all of them. I've learned more about Maxie and Spinelli in these few months of them together, then since November 2006, when I started watching GH again.

JoMax and LoMax might be prettier and sexier with their faces pressed up against each other. (then again, I'm not impressed with Johnny/Lulu kisses at all) Nadine or Georgie might have been better suited to Spin personality wise. I prefer the Spixie pairing because like when they paired Sarah Brown's original Carly and Maurice Benard, the pairing actually forces these characters to show what makes them tick. For me, Spin and Maxie are reminiscent of the old GH pairings that had so much more depth.

He's not pretty enough for her? Since when are looks the be all and end all? I don't think they are.
