Spinelli's Fantasy

Spinelli the Torchered.

Wednesday was a BIG Spinelli day.

Spinelli goes into Kelly's and notices a uber-happy Blonde One. The naughty bad blonde one swoops down at the sight and sits down with Spinelli. She then proceeds to torment Spinelli about the reason that Lulu was so happy. She must be in good mood because she is 'getting some' from Logan (gag). I really must say how much I love scenes with Spinelli & Maxie. Forget Lulu, Georgie & even Jolene. SpinMax would be soo much fun. ok back to the scene. Maxie keeps poking Spin till Lulu comes over (still sickly joyful) and 'scares' Maxie away. Lulu asks whats wrong and Spin tries and change the subject till the 'unworthy one' come in.

Lulu thinks ok great I been completely brain washed by the unworthy one lets have my two favorite guys make peace with each other. Logan 'faked' it pretty good but Spinelli refused. He would not accept Logan. He wished Lulu well and all the happiness in the world but refused to be fake for Lulu. Way to go Spin! He then got up and left.

He then went to the penthouse to lick his wounds and deal with his feels. Poor Spinelli. He was not there very long till the DA of darkness came looking for Jason. Spinelli just started letting out the feelings he had kept bottle up with Lulu. Bradford did amazing in these scenes. Very powerful

After Ric finally leaves Spinelli chases away his sorrows with some BBQ chips with an orange soda chaser.

He then starts to have a daydream involving Lulu and "the girls next door". Not only was it entertaining to watch but you could get into a whole seperate blog posting about the how young men have stereotypical views of females. (1960s Lulu contrasted with the playboy playmates)

in the end fantasy Spin chooses Lulu over the other blonde ones.

Spinelli the Innocent.

There are times when Spinelli shows how our innocent he really is. He sees Jason as super hero and he sees himself as the trusty side kick (and at times he is not that far from the truth)
We started off Friday with Jason and Spinelli tracking the bad goons as they went towards the Canadian boarder. Again and Again Spinelli pulls through for Jason. Jason would not have been able to track the goons with out Spinelli's health.

Spinelli did realize that Jason was a upset and warned him to not lose it with the goons when they meant up with them. It is such a controdiction. Spinelli on one side gets Jason and on another he doesn't. Jason is not always a 'good' guy.

Spinelli saw the dark side of Jason. It scared him. Not in the sense he fears Jason but in the sense that he is coming to the realization that Jason is not as perfect as he would like to think.

Spinelli watched as darkJason forced the goons to tell him who was behind the threat on Elizabeth and Cake (Cameron and Jake). When he believed that Jason would go to far he interceded and came into the motel room just in time to hear that the Goddess Sam was the goons puppet master.

Poor Spinelli. He knows how emotional Jason is over what happened. Now to find out the person who is going to face the wrath of stone cold is his Samantha. The horror. He seen what Jason does when he gets upset. Yeah Spinelli denied it and tried to convince Jason that there was just not way that Sam was involved but he knew just like Jason that it was true.

Spinelli was waiting at the penthouse for Jason to return after confronting Sam. Spin happiness over the fact Jason didn't do something to Sam was short lived when Jason implied next time Sam goes too far he may not make the same decision and that if Spinelli cared for Sam he would warn her.

Spinelli went over to Sam's new apartment with house warming gift. He got her a lava lamp in a bag that strangely matched her dress. Sam and Spinelli had an interesting discussion. He still has so much misplaced faith in Sam but I do think he is starting to realize she has just who he thinks she is.

Review of CARTS

CARTS
Review by Rene’ Thurston
Contributing Writer, BradfordAnderson.net
Moderator, “Bradford Anderson Fans” at MySpace

Have you ever left your local warehouse store on a Saturday amidst 5000 of your fellow neighbors, pushing a cart filled with things like an 85 gallon vat of mayonnaise and a 120-count pack of tube socks, and found yourself noticing “them?” By “them,” I mean cart attendants. Those orange-vested humans who move in a perpetually zombie-like state, pushing mile-long piles of carts, seemingly unaware of the possibility they may be backed over at any minute by someone with 74 cases of beef jerky obstructing their view. You find yourself thinking, “WHO would take that job? Surely they have a grease trap cleaner opening over at Taco Bell?

Director/Writer Chris Cashman leads us to believe that no one would voluntarily take such a job. It is, in fact, purgatory, and he explores that particular punishment in his hilarious film, “Carts.”

I have to admit, my initial interest in Carts was to view what was sure to be another fine performance from one of my favorite actors – Bradford Anderson. I wasn’t sure what else to expect from a low-budget, independent film from a first-time feature director. Imagine my surprise to find that Carts was absolutely hilarious, superbly shot, fabulously acted and had a wonderfully unique and highly entertaining storyline.

The film centers on Roberto, the leader and longest-suffering member of a band of misfit cart attendants at “Cost Low.” Each is serving their time in purgatory for crimes committed in their former lives, the details of which are outlined for each attendant at the beginning of the film in the most hysterical fashion. Not only must they serve time in purgatory, but they are brought back with characteristics, personality traits and daily lives that serve to further punish and drive home the atrocities they inflicted in their previous lives. From the hostile lesbian (who wasn’t even female in her former life) to the self-proclaimed “God’s gift to women” to the completely unhinged Asian who’s the new kid on the block, they all must serve their penance to be released to either heaven or hell.

Bradford Anderson plays Ed, who in his previous life was a famous actor who killed his wife in a manner that may be recognizable to anyone who hasn’t been living in a bubble for the past five years. He has been sent to purgatory, turned into an uber-geek who babbles on about sci-fi shows and role playing games while living under the torment of an over-bearing mother. Ed also requires two “pep pills” per day, provided by the aforementioned mother, in order to function. When Ed misses his afternoon dose after reluctantly giving it to Brad, his fellow cart attendant and burned out druggie, the “real Ed” comes through. For those who have only seen Bradford as cute and charming cybergeek Damian Spinelli on General Hospital, this is a performance you won’t want to miss!

In the midst of an already tedious existence schlepping carts, the not-so-merry band must also maneuver their way through a series of pushy, angry, screaming, senile and just plain crazy customers in the course of the day, including Mad TV’s own Mo Collins as a crazed woman who peddles her bike through the parking lot, tormenting both customers and the Cost-Low employees with her psychotic and hilarious rantings.

Overseeing this group of miscreants is Sam, the lot security guard, acted to the hilt by Ted Lange (yes, THAT Ted Lange) But you’ll forget the cheesy 70’s theme song once Sam opens his mouth. Isaac never served a gin and tonic with the slew of obscenities that Sam utters in the course of a single sentence. Never has an angrier human drove an electric security cart, but he becomes a wealth of wisdom and advice for Roberto, who finds himself facing temptations on the last day of his sentence and the ever-looming moment of judgment.

Will Roberto make it to the Promised Land, or will the offer of a raise and an awesome dental plan damn his soul forever? Well, you’ll just have to see Carts to find out. If nothing else, it just might make you realize that your own job isn’t as bad as you thought it was.

CARTS WORLD PREMIERE!

FINALLY!! I have been hinting here and on the other boards that there MIGHT be another venue to see Bradford, and now it's finally time to announce it!

Long story, but this year, I am working on the staff of the Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival. I emailed Chris Cashman, writer and director of Carts, (starring Bradford!) earlier in the year and told him he should definitely submit the film to the festival. For the past several months, I have been working diligently to get the film recognized as the greatness that it is (and it definitely is!) with the programmers and communicating back and forth with Chris. Only 120 films are accepted to the festival, and they received over 1000 FILMS!! So Carts definitely had to stand out. FINALLY it was announced that the film was ACCEPTED!! And just a few days ago, we finally got the schedule of the screenings.

CARTS WORLD PREMIERE!

Thursday, September 13, 2007, 6:00 p.m. at the Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival, Temecula, CA - see www.tviff.com for more info, directions and tickets (there's LOTS of reasons to attend this 5-day festival - see the site!)

Also a SECOND showing on Saturday, September 15 at 9:00 p.m.

ALSO showing at the VALLEY FILM FESTIVAL in El Portal Theatre at 5269 Lankershim Blvd. North Hollywood, Friday, September 14th at 7:30 p.m.

Because of my staff affiliation with the festival, I have viewed CARTS (IT'S GREAT AND SO IS BRADFORD!!) and with Chris Cashman's encouragement and blessing, I wrote a review for the film. Chris was thrilled with it and is having his web site guy add it to the official site (though tonight, I don't see it as of yet) and to Internet Movie Database. He asked that I try to get the review out to other sites as well, especially Bradford's official and fan sites. I sent it to Shelley, Bradford's official site mistress and I will post a link as soon as it is available. I want to post it here but will wait for Penny to tell me HOW she wants me to post it (in a post? A separate review area?)

I was lucky enough to meet Chris Cashman and his lovely wife, Lisa, at the festival Media Night on August 16th, and they are SUCH nice people!! He feels fairly confident that Bradford WILL be attending one of the screenings, so KEEP CHECKING BACK!! Once I know for sure, I will let everyone know. I have made Chris promise an up close and personal meeting with Bradford as a thanks for pushing this film so hard with the festival. :) So let's hope I have some great photos and a story to share SOON!

HOPE TO SEE SOME OF YOU SO-CAL'ERS AT THE FESTIVAL - OR IF YOU ARE FROM OTHER AREAS MAKE THE TREK! IT'S WORTH IT!! A host of OTHER celebrities will be on hand at the festival this year too, including a Lifetime Achievement Award for Smokey Robinson (who will be there!) as well as a surprise MAJOR headliner band as part of the Music Fest. Plus some other MAJOR celebs that will be a surprise!

HAPPY RENE'!
