Since I am a Spinelli fan first (over any potential couple pairing) I thought it may be interesting to go over my thoughts of Spinlu vs G-Spin.
Thoughts on Spinlu.
I don't think it is much of a surprise my heart is with Spinlu. I think they have such potential to be an epic couple. They already have a rich history, (being kidnaped together, metro-court hostage crisis & keepers of baby Jake's true paternity.) He went into the metro-court FOR HER. Over his his fear he went in to try and save her save. He is such as true and wonderful friend to her too. I think when I write that out though you see my own personal issues with Spinlu. It seems so one sided. Lulu yells at Spinelli, takes and takes from him and NEVER gives. She has a greater interest in Logan's past then Spinelli's. The only thing Lulu has going for her is I do feel Lulu and Spinelli have get on screen chemistry.. (well when she is not yelling at him) Perhaps lulu is afraid to lose her heart to Spinelli and have him crush it? Who knows but she treats him horribly and then asks for him to say sorry to her. Sad Sad Sad. As a Spinelli fan I really have to question at times if Lulu is worthy of the Jackal's affections.
Thoughts on G-Spin.
G-Spin is the pairing the guys in charge did to quiet Spinelli's fans asking for Spinelli to have his love. The start of the summer they where not even in each others radar. (heck poor Georgie was not getting any screen time at all) A little over a year she has played second fiddle to Lulu. If they really do a G-Spin will that mean that Georgie will end up with a broken heart because of Lulu like what happened with Dillon and her? Those are the only negatives. Georgie is sweet to Spinelli and see he is the catch between a poser like Logan. I also think it would be justice to have Lulu lose Spinelli to Georgie.. Truly lose. For her to realize she lost outthe best guy from the girl who's life Lulu destroyed just last summer.

so in conclusion I don't care if it ends up being G-Spin or Spinlu.. As long as my Jackal is happy.

I wonder if the hold up for TPTB (and honestly, it's bothering me, too) is if they go with Georgie/Spin, then Spinlu as an option is over. I seriously doubt Lulu is going to rip Georgie's heart out again. That would be just cruel and make her worse than Maxie. Not to mention, Spin using Georgie as a placeholder for Lulu would destroy the sweetness of his character.
OTOH, this is a soap,and look at Sam, right now. :/
It occurred to me watching yesterday that Spin is doing to Georgie what Lulu is doing to him, albeit Spin isn't doing it as deliberately as Lulu. Lulu wants to have it both ways by having Logan and Spin become friends; then she can ease her conscience. With Spinelli, I think it's more a matter of his personality - focusing on one thing to the Nth degree, no manipulation intended on his part.
All that said, I don't think Spinlu would be a goner even if TPTB toy with G-Spin. I still think Georgie might be a means to an end, whether or not people who like Georgie (me included) think that's right or not. I think all roads lead to Spinlu eventually. Just my instinct.
I think you are right -- G-Spin is probably meant to pacify the Spinelli fans while they do this whole Lulu/Logan thing they've been planning. G-Spin is second fiddle and TPTB are obviously not committed to developing it properly.
SpinLu was a nice surprise to TPTB, I think, but I'm afraid they do not value it as much as we do. That is, unless they have longer term plans for SpinLu that we do not realize. I'd like to believe that's true ;)
I've never been much of a Georgie fan, but I don't think it's fair to throw her in the middle of the SpinLu friendship just because "she needs a storyline."
I want Spinelli to open up to Sam or Jason, someone who isn't a romantic option. That way we can learn about Spinelli outside of a romantic context, then decide who would be the right girl for him.
Lulu does have a lot of growing up to do if Spinlu is to be successful - I guess Spin would too, for that matter. It can't be the way it is (?? LOL) now...all Lulu, all the time, with Spinelli always apologizing. If this relationship were the other way around, i.e. Lulu was always apologizing to Spinelli for something she felt or said, we might consider Lulu verbally abused. Who wants to see a relationship that unbalanced? Spin needs to get a backbone with Lulu. And you know, after seeing today's ep, it occurs to me that Spin would never have to get a backbone with Georgie, because he doesn't have to apologize for who he is with her. This has the makings of a very solid, very beautiful relationship, and as things are now with Lulu, I'd prefer G-Spin any day. They even considered each other's needs over sharing a waffle - and both were happy with the results. Strawberry, anyone? :-)
