Guza Leaves Us with Nothing but HO HO HO's for Christmas - and Beyond

I cannot believe it…. and yet I can completely believe it. YES, we know Georgie is going to die. YES, we know Georgie was in love with Spin, but it will go nowhere because she must be a VICTIM. YES, we know Spin and Lulu will never be because Lulu must love anybody BUT Spin. We feel the knife in our backs, thank you, and a Happy Holidays to you, too, Guza!

But that just couldn’t be enough. They had to TWIST the knife and dig it deeper by having Stone Cold bring Spin to the realization that Georgie likes him - just before she DIES!? And THEN to have Spin realize that someone who is so special, intelligent and beautiful can have feelings for HIM – to have such a wonderful, happy look on his face - NOT a “but I’m in love with the blonde one” look or “hmm…I just think of her as the fair friend and nothing more” look. He actually looks thrilled at the prospect, a face full of hope and possibility.

A little happiness for Spin? NAH! Let’s throw him to the wolves!

Now I have to face several weeks of poor Spinelli living through the grief of Georgie’s death, probably blaming himself for not finding out more about the “text message killer” in time to save her, in addition to feeling guilty and distraught for not realizing Georgie’s true affections for him before her untimely demise - and the realization that he'll never be able to pursue them. Not to mention the inevitable half-hearted "so sorry, Spinelli" moment from Lulu, just before she has to dash off to be the meat in a ho-bag sandwich for Logag and Johnny. Lord knows if we're going to torture Spin, we may as well go for the full enchilada. No chance for a warm moment from Lulu, even though Spin has been there for her countless times. Maybe I'll be wrong about that - but can you blame me for being skeptical?

Even though I know Bradford is going to put in an Emmy-worthy performance with the material he's given, it’s just too much.

So with Emily and Georgie gone, so is the innocence. Unless Spin wants to have his heart broken or get an STD, he's pretty much up the proverbial creek. There's Nadine, but I'm perplexed as to what they're doing with her. A random, and frankly uncomfortable, placement in the "girl's night" scene at Jake's and an even more random appearance during the chicken soup with Georgie scene. Other than that, it's definitely "ho ho ho's" for the holidays over at GH.

I’m just too friggin’ disgusted. I don’t know what the hell TPTB are thinking with these storylines and cast decisions of late, but this is not the “good” kind of anger I think they want from fans. There are storylines and characters you love to hate - and then there's just hate. Read the boards. I’m not the only one thinking of abandoning ship.

So unless there was an 11th hour change of heart and Georgie actually survives come Monday (I know, laugh it up – I don’t believe it either), then I think I’m on GH vacation for awhile.

To sum up my feelings on the matter, here's a fantastic rendition of "How the Guza Stole Christmas" from the scrubs board:

I know just how you feel Rene. I am very upset. I want to so much to be able to stop watching. Realy I do. I don't look forward to GH anymore as a show. I can't stop watching because of Bradford but i have started FF already in everyone elses scenes. I don't know how long that will be good enough.

I think this is going to hit people much worse than TPTB suspect. I have seen Unspoiled GH viewers that have written in their blogs that Georgie and Spin were the one thing that they enjoyed on the show at this point, because it wasn't dark or ugly. Most of us heard the support for Georgie/Spin at SSW on those various YOU TUBE recordings.

Lots of support for Lulu and Spin, too--but like you say, she has Johnny and Logan.

I don't think GH can afford to lose more viewers.
